We initially met in the summer of 2017 in Lake Havasu. The stars didn't align for us that summer. Three years later, in the spring of May 2020, which was in full pandemic mode. I was heading out for a hiking trip to Zion National Park with a group of friends. Much to my surprise, I noticed Daryl was part of the group heading to Utah. We were there for 4 days, everyday was a different adventure. On the second day, we all got on our neoprene socks and waterproof boots and began our journey through the Narrows, a beautiful but challenging hike that had us all wading through waist-high waters through the Virgin River; we hiked 8 miles through the towering canyon walls. At times, the terrain took a dive, and the water was up to my neck. Daryl offered his arm to help me navigate through the rocky river bottom, never letting my head get underwater. We took a break and climbed up some rocks to a flat plateau. This is where we took our first picture, surrounded by all the beauty and scenery of Zion National Park. It was at this point that I felt there might be something more to this gentleman who helped me navigate through the canyon. So, we began dating and sharing our lives. After a year of dating, we decided to move in together, and our relationship blossomed into something different and special. We both felt we were advancing into the next step in our relationship, but I didn't expect what was coming. It was on Christmas 2023 that Daryl, along with his two kids, Matues and Ariana, had the gift of a lifetime for me. They sent me on a scavenger hunt through the house where my last clue was the "ICE BOX." Then Daryl got down on one knee and popped the big question!
