It all began in Fall 2021 at a Konbit Kreyol meeting at FAU, where Kylie’s auntie Onadette introduced her to Stevenson. Before the meeting even started, they were deep in conversation and did not realize it had already begun. For a moment, it felt like they were the only two in the room. At the time, neither thought it would become anything serious. Life was busy, and they were both focused on different things. In January 2022, Stevenson saw Kylie in the FAU courtyard near the Physical Science building. Without hesitation, he ran from the breezeway just to say hi. They shared a hug, and when Stevenson looked into Kylie’s eyes, he knew he wanted to ask her out. Later that evening on FaceTime, Stevenson teased her saying, “You like me, don’t you?” Kylie could not hide her smile.
