While there is no formal dress code, we recommend light, breathable fabrics that are ideal for a beach setting, such as linen or cotton. Comfortable footwear is also a good choice, as the ceremony will be held on the sand.
*Start time is not certain as we are still in the planning phase with the resort. We are aiming for a 4:30pm ceremony so that our celebration overlaps with Costa Rica's famous sunsets.
Costa Rica is located in Central America, and is famously known for its diverse range of natural landscape with lush rainforests to Pacific + Caribbean beaches.
Our wedding has been shifted and is now being held at The Westin Reserva Conchal, a 4.5-star all-inclusive golf and spa resort that is part of the Marriot collection. This resort has received many notable travel awards and recognition.
To get to The Westin Reserva Conchal, you must travel by air into Liberia Guanacaste Airport Costa Rica (LIR). The flight is about 5.5 hours and is then followed by an hour long shuttle. Shuttles can be included in your booking as an add on if you are interested in utilizing this service; Tasha will reach out to you after booking your room and you can make your decision then. We highly recommend utilizing the shuttle service that is offered as private taxis both to and from the airport are significantly more expensive due to the length of trip, and are and not always readily available.*
Costa Rica is a country located in Central America. This means that a valid, up to date passport is required for travel. Passports are not optional, and other forms of identification will not suffice. It is important to note that passports often follow what is known as the 'six-month rule'. This rule stipulates that your passport should have at least six months of validity remaining from the date of your entry or departure to or from the international destination. If your passport expiration date is sooner than six months from your date of arrival, you will not be able to travel internationally. Please ensure that your passport is up to date sooner rather than later, as it may take the post office several weeks to process your paperwork. Expediting a passport is a hefty additional cost and not guaranteed.
You can go about booking by accessing the booking link above. If you are having trouble, or if you have any further questions, you may also reach out to our wedding coordinator, Tasha La Touche, via email for further support. *It is important to note that although significant changes have been made, Destination Weddings requires all guests to continue making payments as scheduled. If for any reason you fail to make a payment, you will be dropped from our group rate and no longer have a booking or a guaranteed room at the resort. Any and all payments that have already been made will be reallocated to Westin as per Tasha. Please note that if you plan on canceling your trip due to the sudden changes that have been made, a full refund will be made available to you as per Hyatt's statement and policy.
Purchasing a Travel Protection Plan with a Cancel or Any Reason Waiver (TPP) is highly recommended for all guests. It is offered upon booking and may NOT be added on after your reservation is confirmed. Depending on which option you prefer, TPP allow you to either choose a travel credit for up to one year, or receive a full-refund in the event that you are unexpectedly unable to make the trip. *If you choose not to purchase a TPP, your trip must be paid in full by the first guest payment date in March. If you do choose to purchase a TPP, you are only required to pay 50% of your booking by March.
We have secured a variety of group rates for you to select from, along with a range of room types, travel dates, and stay durations. Options are available for selection through our booking link.
All booking must be completed by March in order to ensure room availability and negotiated group rates. Please let us know once you have booked your stay, RSVPing through Zola as well. NOTE: Flights must be booked separately.
Rooms are available for booking between July 26th - August 2nd. You are welcome to stay longer, but the resort is not responsible for guaranteeing the group rate outside of this window.
Our wedding ceremony will take place on the beach, followed a reception on the hotel grounds. We kindly request an unplugged ceremony, inviting you to be fully present with us during our ceremony. After the ceremony, feel free to take all the pictures you'd like!
Costa Rica borders Nicaragua to the north and Panama to the south. Because of its location, warm weather predominates but many different microclimates are found throughout the country. In the month of July, you can expect temperatures to be warm and humid, with an average of around 80°F to 86°F. The Pacific coast tends to be a bit drier, while the Caribbean coast may receive more rainfall.
