We appreciate everyone traveling so far to celebrate our special day with us. So we can spend as much time as possible with you all, we will be hosting a welcome party on Friday! Mountain Top Wedding

Sat, Sep 7, 2024, 5:15 pm - Sun, Sep 8, 2024, 12:00 am

Cocktail Attire: Wear cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, suits in light or dark colors, blazers and slacks

The ceremony will take place on the summit, which requires riding a chairlift or gondola. You will need to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the ceremony to ride the chair lift up. The last lift will leave no later than 5:30 pm. If you miss this, you will miss the ceremony. You can ride up as early as 5 pm. There's a bar at the summit and amazing views! All guests will ride the chair lift back down to the base lodge for the reception. The reception will begin with a cocktail hour starting at 6:45pm. Dinner will follow at 7:45pm inside the base lodge. The gondolas are wheelchair accessible and fully enclosed. Please let us know if you'd like to ride in the gondola! We will have the alpine slide available during our cocktail hour, so come prepared to slide! https://skiwhitefish.com/alpine-slide/ For detailed information, see Whitefish Mountain Resort's website here: https://skiwhitefish.com/wedding-guest-information/

Travel

Flight

Glacier National Park (FCA)

The airport is technically in Kalispell, MT, which is ~28 minutes from the mountain and ~15 minutes from the town of Whitefish!

Flight

Missoula Montana Airport

Missoula is ~2.5 hours away from Whitefish, but is an absolutely beautiful drive up to Whitefish! The flights are also probably going to be less expensive. If you'll be in the area for a few days, definitely consider flying into Missoula and exploring around there! You will need to rent a car.

House Or Rental

Whitefish Mountain Resort

1015 Glades Drive, Whitefish, MT 59937
 406-862-1960

This location is right on the mountain where we'll be getting married, and is ~12 minutes from the town of Whitefish. Many of the homes and condos for rent are walking distance to the Base Lodge but there is also an on-demand shuttle service to transport guests between their lodging and the Base Lodge. Our discount code is OLSENDARNELL. This gives a 15% discount if arriving on Friday or Saturday, 25% discount if arriving on Thursday (or earlier) and staying for at least 4 nights. The 25% discount is only available by calling; the 15% is available when booking online. We recommend calling soon to book! Central Reservations: 406-862-1960

FAQs

We recommend checking out Whitefish Mountain Resort's wedding guest information (https://skiwhitefish.com/wedding-guest-information/), but if you have any other questions not answered with the link above or the FAQs below, please reach out to Kris or Kelly!
Question

What time is the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony is at 6pm at the top of the mountain! However, you must ride the chair lift or the gondola to the top between 5pm and 5:30pm. If you arrive after 5:30pm, then you will miss the ceremony.

Question

Will there be transportation from town to the mountain, or vice-versa?

Answer

For daytime travel (before 9 pm), there is a free bus between town and the resort. Find the schedule here: (https://skiwhitefish.com/snowbus/)! For evening travel, we recommend Grab a Cab (https://grabacabmt.com/, 406-609-7272), as Uber and Lyft are unreliable. These can be scheduled 24 hours in advance! Due to the majority of guests staying on-mountain, we are not having a shuttle to the ceremony/reception from town. If we have already touched base with you about transportation, we'll be reaching out again before the event!

Question

What is the attire for the ceremony?

Answer

Cocktail attire! Wear cocktail dresses, LBDs, dressy jumpsuits, suits, and jackets and slacks.

Question

When is the RSVP deadline?

Answer

June 30th

Question

Is there really going to be an alpine slide?

Answer

Absolutely! We've rented the alpine slide for guests to ride during cocktail hour (6:45pm-7:45pm). Here's a little more information: https://skiwhitefish.com/alpine-slides/

Question

What time will dinner be served?

Answer

Dinner will be served at 7:45pm, which will be a buffet featuring pan-seared chicken, almond-crusted trout, and various vegetarian dishes.

Question

Will all festivities be outdoors?

Answer

The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outside. The reception will be indoors.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Summer days in Montana are typically sunny and warm and evenings are crisp and cool after sunset. There can be a 10 degrees of temperature difference between the Base Lodge (where the reception is held) and Summit (where the ceremony takes place). A light weight to medium weight jacket is always a good idea.

Question

What is the elevation on the mountain?

Answer

The base elevation is 4,464 ft, and the summit is 6,817 ft. If you're not used to elevation, we recommend drinking lots of water leading up to and during the celebration!
