We met at Tre Trattoria, an Italian restaurant here in San Antonio, back in 2009. We were both seeing other people so the timing wasn't quite right but we did become Facebook friends so the connection (even though it was platonic) was set. Shane does remember Alexa not being like the other girls. :). Fast forward to 2020 - yay Covid - and we reconnected on, you guessed it - FACEBOOK. The timing was absolutely RIGHT this time! After countless hours-long phone calls and texts, we started traveling back and forth from SA and Houston. After a year and a half of long-distance love, Shane finally made the BIG jump and moved to San Antonio....

Shane planned us a beautiful, quiet weekend at Blackwood Farms, where his friend Cade runs the Farm to table dinners. We checked into our cabin and proceeded to explore the grounds. Amazing flowers, active bee hives, a HUGE water moccasin, chickens and frogs galore! Cade had prepared us an OUTSTANDING coursed meal that blew us away. After dinner, we took a walk around the grounds where all of the evening toads were beginning to sing. As I was admiring the sun setting over the pond, Shane was getting down on one knee. I was completely taken by surprise and it was PERFECTION!! He put a ring on it and we spent the evening walking under the stars trying not to step on the numerous toads enjoying the evening as well :)
