The couple met at a typical college party on UofL's campus, at the house next door to where KiKi lived. Daniel and KiKi both arrived with friends, with no expectations, hindsight, or inkling that they would be meeting for the first time. KiKi was in the kitchen of the house partying along with her friends when she spotted the fine young hunny who would later be introduced as Daniel. She asked..well really, TOLD her friends that she calls dibs on "the cute one on the couch"..yes, obviously it was Daniel. With some...(alot but shh) liquid courage, she went over to introduce herself. Dan being the introvert he is was not taking the bait at first, as KiKi found herself having a conversation with his friend rather than him. The beer pong table opened up and KiKi with her eyes on the prize was not letting a failed conversation shift the momentum. "Let's play a game! Krista and I have been waiting to play! You and Jeff vs Me and Krista, but actually, I want the cute one as my partner!" The game continued, drinks flowed, and conversation and vibes were great! As the partying winded down, KiKi invited Daniel over for an afterparty next door! And well, seven years later, here we are :)

Oak Island, North Carolina Just an end of season beach day scheduled between the couple and a few of Daniel’s teammates tagging along. On the way to the beach, a 3 hour car ride from Charlotte, Kiana had no suspicion, idea, or instinct that today would be the day! …It had been 7 years…During the car ride, Daniel mentioned they need to take pictures because they are terrible at taking pictures, but not of their fur baby Brody. They got to the beach, applied sunscreen, and walked down to the water to take pictures. With two of his teammates taking pictures, and others standing nearby, Daniel asked, “what pose should we do?” Kiana responded, “I don’t know!?” Daniel shifted poses and dropped onto his knee asking for her hand in marriage. Kiana was actually gobsmacked, and for once speechless…the girl can yap. Saying YES , screaming, crying, jumping up and down, beach goers cheering for us in congratulations, Daniel pulled off a perfect beach proposal for his southern california beach girl.
