Jay and I officially met in 2019, though fate had been nudging us together long before. His cousin—my aunt’s best friend—had tried to set us up for ages. When I finally saw his picture, I thought, He’s cute, but he looks short! Still, I sent him a friend request, and he accepted right away. A few months later, in November, he messaged me on Facebook. By the end of the day, we had exchanged numbers and started talking. Our journey wasn’t easy—we argued, fell out, and reconnected more times than I can count. But in November 2021 (our lucky month, it seems), he reached out again, and this time, we never stopped talking. Love has a way of finding you when the time is right—and for us, that time is now!

On March 20, 2024, what I thought was just a fun date turned into one of the most unforgettable moments of my life. Jay planned a beautiful photoshoot for us, and in the middle of it, he handed me flowers, got down on one knee, and proposed. I knew it was coming, but the moment still took my breath away. It’s one thing to dream about this as a little girl, imagining what you’d do, but when it actually happens, it’s surreal. He’s really choosing me—to love, to cherish, to spend forever with. Jay is truly one of a kind—patient, compassionate, and gentle. From the outside, he might seem tough, but he has the most beautiful heart. Knowing that this incredible man wants to share his life with me is overwhelming in the best way. I thank God every day for blessing me with him.
