Best Woman
The relationship with and the connection both Austin & I have with Leah is always the most fun and interesting story to tell. When I began working at Pellegrino’s Italian Kitchen I was living with Leah. I referred to her only as my sister, because to me that is the bond that we have. Leah and I are bonded together over 15 years of friendship, hardship, love, disputes, music, and a spiritual connection. The love and gratitude I have for her is profound. She is my sister not by blood, but by choice. Leah makes me feel closer to my true self than just about anyone else. Leah reminds me how to laugh, be kind, and more importantly that our worlds will keep turning no matter what life throws at us. My sister is my safe place and the phone call I make that harbors no judgement, no questions, and no guilt. Leah taught me what family really meant and helped me apply that to all of my life and relationships. People often get the saying “blood is thicker than water,” wrong. The full quote is - “The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.” Meaning those we choose in life are bonded stronger to us than merely a blood relation. But then.. Austin started at the restaurant. Very shortly after that him and I began dating. Things got tricky when I had to explain diligently that Leah and I were not actually related because Austin is in fact Leah’s cousin by blood. I always joke with him though that my sister card trumps the cousin card every time.
As soon as possible! We’re not terribly stressed about it though as we know this was last minute for everyone.
We ask that all guests wear semi-formal all black attire. We ask that all guests, especially ladies, refrain from wearing white out of respect for the bride. Please note that Leah has been given permission to “accidentally” spill merlot on anyone but the bride who attends in a white dress.
Please see your invitation allots you a plus one. If you were not we ask you respect the limited capacity available in the restaurant.
We ask that you refrain from bringing your children. We love all your littles, but the venue is not equipped for a larger capacity than the already invited guest list.
The welcome event is to begin at 4:30pm. We ask that you arrive no earlier than that and no later than the 5:15pm ceremony start time. If you arrive during the ceremony please refrain from interrupting the ceremony.
Both! The ceremony will be held outside and the reception will be inside.
Yes! We encourage guests to take photos on their phones, but we will also have disposable cameras available for the guests to snap photos throughout the night. We will get the film developed later! We have hired a photographer for the ceremony so we ask you refrain from getting in his way.
