Ours is not just a story of love and relationship but a tale of two souls who found each other while pursuing our mutual passion and mission. Kenia (a daughter of Bolivian indigeneity) and Adrian (a son of the Islands of the Philippines) were drawn to the forest of Drew University to explore their calling of faith and service, to God and to God’s creation. Interestingly, we never had a class together and barely talked to each but our circles always looped into each other until we were dancing together…with justice works in the fall of 2021. Since our first meeting, it had been only a matter of time before we are called to a journey to forever, officially on April 29, 2022. Kenia might say it started on a very spontaneous invitation to spend a weekend in DC but it started long before that for Adrian. Adrian has been secretly and nervously waiting for such kind of opportunity and when fate intervened, it was exciting and surprisingly comfortable for both of us. Spending time in DC made us feel as if we have known each other for a long time even though we have not spent time together just by ourselves. In some fairy tales, it’s like our souls have known each other even before we met. In a short amount of time, which is beyond what could be tracked by a clock and calendar, we traveled and experienced so much that it brought us closer and closer together. Our months have been filled with much love, joy, thanksgiving, laughter, faith, and growth! And so, as we stand hand in hand on our wedding day, we know that our love story is not just about our union but about the incredible journey we shared and will share. It is also about the overwhelming love and support of our family, friends, and communities across the globe and above all to God!
