Kit and I met in class our Sophomore year of college at Texas A&M University (WHOOP!). We were luckily placed in the same small group, and soon began getting to know each other. One day, he asked for my phone number, which he so smoothly used to text and ask me for help on homework....After that super smooth move, he then began walking me to my car after class, and eventually started coming to watch my soccer games. One night, after a game, Kit and I talked for while on the side of the field (with my entire family watching from afar). Once he left I was quickly approached by my sister asking "Soo who was THAT guy in uniform??" to which I responded "Oh, just some guy from class." Well, obviously he wasn't just SOME guy! Not long after that Kit and I officially began dating. We dated for 3.5 years before he asked me to marry him at sunset on the beach in Florida, and the rest is history!
With Kit being in the Air Force, he is constantly moving around. In May, Kit was in Florida. We made a plan for me to visit for two weeks, as I was not going to be able to see him until October. In my second week there, (yes, he made me wait a week) we planned to have a date night. Kit told me we were going to dinner, but first we were going to walk on the beach at sunset. The whole day Kit would not stop moving, and on the way to the beach he was shaky and quiet. At the beach, we began walking and nervously talking. He held my hand as we eventually came up to a heart in the sand...(cue Kendall's big "NO WAY" moment). Kit spun me around and told me "Kendall, I kind of have an important question to ask you"...and then I backed out, zero recollection of what he said, all I know is I said "Are you serious?" and "YES!!!". With the help of our sweet Florida friends, Kit had the perfect engagement planned. A photographer, our friend, there to capture our big moment - a beach picnic with champagne to celebrate - and more friends at his house to join in the celebration! With the help of our sweet Texas friends, Kit had a big video of all our friends and family each congratulating us. All of the people who mean the most to us, all in one special video. It is something I will cherish forever! May 24th was the happiest day, one I will remember forever, and I can only imagine how perfect March 7th will be!
