During the 2020s, when the world was shut down, Kelly, who had been single for over 5 years and was working from home for the foreseeable future, couldn't think of a better place to spend the lonely, isolating days than her favorite place in the world: the beach. Luckily, Kelly's parents were kind enough to let her stay at their condo at the Dunes of Panama. What was supposed to be a two-week stint, turned into 6 weeks, then 3 months and Kelly had never felt more at home and happy. For the next three years, Kelly was back and forth between her home in Louisville and the Dunes and she met some amazing people who she knew were going to be friends for life. Little did she know, two of them, Sonny and Madonna Senn, would change her life forever. In the fall of 2022, Lee was spending one of his first vacations in a while in his parent's condo at the Dunes of Panama. Lee had three beautiful children: Kynlee, 14, Knox, 12 and Landrie, 8. It was a much-needed vacation for all of them, as Lee had lost his wife and the mother of his children, Kristie, to a long-fought battle with cancer. Lee had been doing an amazing job taking care of and supporting his 3 children, and had just decided he was potentially ready to start dating again. Lee's mom, Madonna, thought of Kelly, who had been single as long as she had known her. While she didn't want to be too pushy, when the stars aligned during that October of 2022, and both Lee and Kelly were in Florida at the same time, she and two of the other "Condo Girls" discreetly organized a meeting between Lee and Kelly, at the local watering hole of the condo, Stingray's. Kelly and Lee continued to see each other throughout the week, including a date at Ms. Newby's (supervised by Knox and Kynlee) and a few school buses later, they both began to feel there was something special between them. By the end of the week, Kelly was sad to see Lee head back to Kentucky. They exchanged numbers and began to talk every day the rest of the time Kelly was in Florida and Lee was back in Louisville. When Kelly came home a few weeks later, Lee took her on a "proper date" and the rest is history. As the place where they met, got engaged and now will get married, Panama City Beach holds a special place in their hearts.
