We met on a dating platform called Bumble. Our first date was at Ponce City Market. Where we spent hours on the rooftop talking and playing a few games. We enjoyed our time together so much that our next date was a few days later at the Atlanta Battery on a game night. We watched the game from Punch Bowl Social and people watched from the roof. This is where we found out we were a lot alike with our sense of humor. Our third date was nothing short of fun at an Atlanta United Soccer match. This is where we got to see our competitiveness come out in one another. Kelly then broke her foot 3 weeks into dating and was in a boot for 16 weeks. If you want to find out if things will last, try being forced to becoming a passenger princess because you can’t drive. Ernst willingly stuck around even though that was not something either of us signed up for. We both knew that this was the real deal when we would make it through that unplanned situation. Since that very first-time meeting, we have traveled the world together, been through loss, have managed being apart for work, and still find time to be there unconditionally for one another.
On Friday August 4th, 2023, we went to our favorite place to eat in Milton. This was to celebrate our two-year anniversary a little early. On Saturday, August 5th, we were having a low key night sitting in the backyard with the twinkly lights on. Ernie starts to reminisce as we only had a few more nights in that house before moving. Ernie begins to say. “This was our first big adventure together (moving in), and I want this to be our next”. As he gets down on one knee. I instantly melt and say “YES”, and we were engaged just like that. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you all.
