Meet us in Montana.
At the corner of space and time, there's a dive bar called Charlie B's. It's a great place to meet friends for counter-order cajun food and draft beer, or to saunter in overdressed from the expensive wine bar next door. If you ask Austin, it's an especially good place to lick wounds after getting stood up on a double date. That's what he was doing when Katie walked in on a cold April night in 2021. Katie prefers Al's and Vic's, one block north. That's where she and Austin played pool for hours the night they met, where they were introduced to each other's closest friends, and where she grabbed his face to kiss him for the first time. These are just two of many places, new and old, that make Missoula, Montana the corner of space and time for Austin and Katie. But after almost three years of shared life there, they moved to Austin, Texas at the end of January 2024 to experience something different. They spent 16 months in the Lone Star State working on their creative endeavors and stuffing their faces with barbecue. In April 2025, they moved back to Polaris, Montana to count down the last five weeks before the wedding. They can't wait to see you in their favorite place on Earth come Memorial Day weekend.

Our rehearsal dinner will be a small gathering by invite only for all ceremony participants and their significant others. Once dinner is complete, we will open the event to all guests staying near the venue for a welcome cocktail. Thanks for understanding!

If you are traveling from out of town and staying near the venue, come start the weekend with us on the back patio at Nap's Grill in Hamilton! A full bar and lots of finger foods will be available. This is a relaxed event, so nice jeans and casual dresses are welcome. We will be enjoying the outdoor patio as the sun sets, so please dress accordingly and prepare for a temperature drop!

Beer and wine service will begin at 3:30 p.m., so come early and grab a drink before the ceremony begins! Give us your best Montana formal. The ceremony will be outdoors, so boots are encouraged. Please arrive by 4 p.m.

Drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and a buffet-style dinner will be served on the lawn before we head into the Slack Barn to dance the night away.

The Missoula International Airport is about an hour north of venue. Expect a connection through major hubs like Denver, Salt Lake City, Minneapolis, or Dallas-Fort Worth, depending on where you're traveling from.
Shuttle
Shuttle from Hamilton to the Barn at Teller

For the safety and peace-of-mind of our guests, we will offer a free shuttle between the venue, the Bitterroot River Inn, and the Skywater Cabins for the duration of the event. If you chose different accommodations, please have a plan in place for a safe ride home at the end of the evening.

Rooms are available for Saturday, May 24 if you would like to spend the night in Hamilton after the event and take advantage of the free shuttle. Katie is still holding one double-queen room reservation for Thursday through Sunday morning. If you would like to book it, please let her know. We recommend booking a room at the Bitterroot River Inn in Hamilton. We will run a free shuttle between here and the venue. Please call them directly at (406) 375-2525 to make a reservation, as their website doesn't always display their full room availability.

What the heck does "Montana formal" mean?
Answer
Think a few steps below tuxedos and gowns. Suits, ties, and floor-length dresses are great, but leave the stilettos at home, as we'll be mostly outside. Get western with it! Rock a bolo tie, a hat, or some boots. Please take inclement weather into account.

What will the weather be like?

*Updated 5/6: The long-term forecast is showing temperatures in the 60s and 70s with the potential for some rain. Overnight lows will drop into the 40s. Spring in western Montana is, for lack of a better term, a crapshoot. It could be sunny and in the low 70s or raining and 55. Pack a jacket or shawl and don't be surprised if there's mud. We will dine under a large tent and indoor seating will also be available.

We will have a full bar and Bob Marshall's Biga Pizza will provide hors d'oeuvres and a buffet-style dinner. Gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options will be available. Please reach out to Austin, Katie, or one of their family members with any dietary restrictions or concerns.

Please park along Chaffin Lane. Do not turn down the driveway toward the barn. Parking will be limited, so consider carpooling and please take advantage of the shuttle if you're staying at the Bitterroot River Inn or the Skywater Cabins. Thank you!
