Corona del mar state beach is a beautiful local beach. It has a short walk from sand to water, the wedge (famous Newport Beach surfing spot), and a lovely walking path above it along the neighboring homes. A quick 2 miles from the Vea!
Andy took me to Tommy Bahama for our first brunch date and it is one of our favorite restaurants. Off of PCH and 1 mile from our Hotel venue, they have great food and on the weekends they usually have a live musical performer for brunch!
About 10 mins car ride from the Vea Hotel. Lido village is the cutest collection of boutique shopping, restaurants, cafes, and with a sailing aesthetic! Great to stroll along the shops with a coffee or to have a lovely evening dinner on the water. Favorites include: Quick eats- Bear Flag fish co, Herst Coffee Roasters Shops- Lido Village books, Le Labo Restaurants- Nobu, Fable & Spirit
Just across the Newport Bay, 6ish miles from the Vea, Balboa fun zone has lots of activities with rides, a Ferris Wheel, an arcade, and a nautical museum. Beach treats, dining, and beach bars are also within walking distance. It is a popular place to rent bikes or a duffy boat and cruise the harbor!
A socal favorite Nick's is great for lunch or dinner with a delicious assortment of steaks, salads, and burgers! Our favorite is the coconut shrimp roll and the bistro plate! On the border of Costa mesa and Newport, Nick's is about a 10 min car ride from the Vea. Also, off of 17th street are some grocery stores, cafes and versatile dining options.
