Things to do

If you are looking for some activities the weekend of our wedding, check out our favorites spots in the area!

Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art

600 Main Street, Hartford, CT 06103

This is such a special spot for us- the spot we got engaged! Spend some time exploring the beautiful art galleries and experience one of our favorite date activities!

Heirloom Market at Comstock Ferre

263 Main Street, Wethersfield, CT 06109

The cutest cafe in Connecticut- so cute that a Hallmark movie was even filmed here! What used to be an old seed shop is now a great spot to grab a coffee and some baked goods- we especially like their cookies!

Doro Marketplace - Windsor Locks

2 National Drive, Windsor Locks, CT 06096

If you are looking for a great European-inspired spot for breakfast or lunch, or just a tasty treat, make a stop here! Alec's favorite is the Brioche French Toast while Katia recommends the Tiramisu Latte! Doro is also located in Wethersfield and West Hartford!

Mystic Aquarium

55 Coogan Boulevard, Stonington, CT 06355

If you are looking to do a day trip on the Saturday, consider a drive to southern CT to check out the sea creatures at the aquarium! Nearby, there is also shopping and dining at the Olde Mistick Village!

The Mark Twain House & Museum

351 Farmington Avenue, Hartford, CT 06105

If you enjoy literature and history, you might want to tour the home of Samuel Clemens, also known as Mark Twain! Walk through the space where he wrote some of his most famous works such as Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Fin.

Connecticut Science Center

250 Columbus Boulevard, Hartford, CT 06103

If you have kiddos or are a kiddo at heart, spend some time checking out the exhibits at the local science center! Enjoy the adventure!

FAQs

Question

Where do we park?

Answer

At the site of our ceremony service, St. Nicholas Orthodox Church, there is a free parking lot right outside the church. At the site of our reception, The Society Room of Hartford, the entrance to the parking lot is located off Asylum Street. At the parking lot entrance, there is a booth, take a ticket and park closer to Pratt Street (parallel to Asylum St on the other side of the building). The entrance to the venue building is through large wooden double doors off of Pratt Street. Once you enter, one of the venue staff will provide you with a parking ticket reimbursement.
