It all started in 2019, when Kathy and Bryant’s paths crossed for the first time at The Magnolia Grove Monastery. At the time, Kathy knew nothing about Kansas, but Bryant’s roommate at the monastery still tried to make the introduction, hoping to connect them. Fast forward to 2021, when Kathy and Bryant found themselves at the same GDPT Leadership Meeting in Houston. Once again, nothing significant came from it. They were simply two people in the same room, unaware that their futures were slowly intertwining. But fate had more in store for them. The real spark began in 2022, when Kathy traveled to Wichita for her leadership training camp, Trai A Duc. It was at this camp, where Bryant was helping out since it was his local chapter, that the two started to notice each other. Small interactions turned into meaningful conversations, and slowly, the chemistry between them began to build. After the camp ended, mutual friends encouraged Kathy and Bryant to keep in touch. What started as casual conversations online soon blossomed into something more. As they continued to text, the connection between them grew stronger. Video calls became a regular part of their routine, and before long, Bryant took the next step. While on a family trip to Houston, he asked Kathy out on a date. The two went to Gyu Kaku, a cozy Japanese BBQ spot, where they shared delicious food and meaningful conversation. That evening marked the beginning of their official relationship. Though they were dating long-distance, Kathy and Bryant’s bond only deepened. They made time to travel together, exploring the sights and sounds of Chicago, New York, and Austin.
