Our meet-cute

The BEST hardware store find

Nick and I met at Lowe's. It started with him coming through my line as a regular customer, picking up his daily drinks. Over time, I moved up to customer service, and he’d wander up to talk to me from the back of the store where he worked—always with a stack of paper to shred … one piece at a time. A friend of ours eventually let me know that he was interested, but honestly, he didn't really keep that a secret. From the very first moment we crossed paths, there was something about the way we clicked. There were no awkward silences, no nerves—just an instant connection that felt easy and natural. The rest, as they say, is history.

Wedding

12:00 pm - 5:30 pm

At The Barn AK
6013 N Crested Butte Dr., Wasilla, AK 99623

Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome and so are suits and cocktail dresses. It's the most wonderful time of the year, don't be afraid to bring some Christmas spirit.

There isn't going to be the traditional meal, instead we have opted for a grazing table. Lots of bites sized foods, charcuterie, and desserts to snack on throughout the reception.

Travel

House Or Rental

Meier Lake Resort

6059 Wasilla-Fishhook Road, Wasilla, AK 99654

I've toured the grounds of this place; the area is lovely and talked back down a long dirt road this cabins close to a lake they groom for ice skating. There is a bar and food on sight. This is located about 15-20 minutes away from the Clapper Clan but is still fairly close to town.

Hotel

Mat-Su Resort

1850 Bogard Road, Wasilla, AK 99654

This is a Resort off of Wasilla Lake, we don't have a lot of hotel options here in Wasilla, but this one is fairly close to town and the Family. Theres a restaurant located next to the resort (the food isn't the best, but the gouda fries are good, and they have a bar). The lake this is on is groomed and lit up for ice skating.

Rental Car

Enterprise Rent-A-Car

4535 East Greenstreet Circle, Wasilla, AK 99654

We will 100% pick you up from the airport and offer our vehicles as we can, but if you want to rent a vehicle while you are here, I've used this company before, and they were great.

Things To Do

Reindeer Farm

Reindeer Farm

5561 Bodenburg Loop, Palmer, AK 99645

Such a fun place! You can feed some moose and pet some reindeer! During December they usually have some holiday events going on too, overall, super fun place to go for all ages.

Eklutna Tailrace

Eklutna Tailrace

13145 South Old Glenn Highway, Palmer, AK 99645

This is a short hike; the water is vibrant blue and there's a small bridge that gives you a beautiful view of the Tailrace and the hoar-frosted trees. It's a truly beautiful place.

Eklutna Lake

Eklutna Lake

Eklutna Lake Rd., Anchorage, AK

Not connected to Eklutna Tailrace, however this water is just a blue. You can ice skate here in the winter, the lake is 7 miles long, there are also trails around the lake for hiking. Lots of mountain scenery, its truly beautiful.

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

43520 Seward Highway, Anchorage, AK 99587

Bears, Moose, Wolves, Caribou, and so much more! The wildlife conservation center is about 2 hours away from Wasilla, but it features a beautiful drive along the Turnagain Arm. Lots of pull offs for pictures of the ocean and mountain scenery. Opportunity to see lots of bald eagles, and then of course all the animals at the conservation center. You'll pass through Chugach national forest and by a cute Ski town called " Girdwood". Plenty of fun places to stop along the way!

Big Dipper Homemade Ice Cream

Big Dipper Homemade Ice Cream

290 North Yenlo Street, Wasilla, AK 99654

This is Nick & I's favorite date spot, it's a locally owned homemade ice cream shop. The whole place smells like waffle cones. Some of their ice creams even feature local Alaska ingredients like fireweed and birch syrup! They also have dairy free options that are super yummy. There are two locations, the main one is in Palmer, but there is also a location in Wasilla.

For all the days along the way
