An icon. A classic. A great way to spend a day (if you like art)
Famous indoor market! Great for breakfast and lunch. Tons of excellent food stalls and shops. Some of our faves: DiNic's roast pork, Hershel's (the pastrami sandwiches are UNREAL), Becks Cajun Cafe, Beiler's Bakery (the Amish make fantastic donuts), Termini Bros (cannolis), Old City Coffee
Great for a fancy brunch! Katherine used to hostess there back in 2013-2014
Excellent dive bar to pop into if you're walking around the city. A Deb & John favorite!
World renowned (literally) beer bar. Serves great steamed mussels and has a HUGE selection of beer, particularly hard-to-find European brews.
Probably the most well-known and popular green space in the city. Great for people and dog watching! Grab a coffee or snack from the dozens of shops and restaurants in the area, snag a bench, and relax! Walnut and Chestnut street are also great shopping destinations and have a lot of popular brand-name stores (Anthropologie, Madewell, Columbia, Nordstrom Rack, etc)
Honestly, there are too many excellent bars and restaurants in this area to name. Some popular spots: MIddle Child Clubhouse, Jaffa Bar, Suraya, La Colombe Coffee (their flagship store), Wm. Mulherin's Sons, Pizzeria Beddia, Johnny Brenda's, Barcade, and Frankford Hall.
Our favorite place to escape the city without actually escaping the city. Easy(ish) hike to some nice views! Or there's a walking path along the river that's also nice.
Excellent cheesesteaks and roast pork sandwiches. It's where we like to take people who have never had a cheesesteak (Pat's and Geno's don't count).
Where we had our first date! In the middle of peak-COVID. Outside. In January. Has indoor & outdoor seating along E. Passyunk Ave (our most frequented hangout area), and an excellent selection of tapas and wine!
No, sorry. While we love all of the children in our life, we cannot accommodate them at our event. Please feel free to treat this like a date night, and grab a sitter!
'Garden Party Formal' attire is requested. For ladies: think midi or maxi dresses in colors or patterns that remind you of nature! For guys: suits encouraged. You will be walking and standing on uneven terrain during parts of the event, so we don't recommend wearing shoes with pointy heels.
Bartram's Garden is the oldest surviving botanical garden in North America! We love it for it's Schuylkill (pronounced skoo-kehl) River and city skyline views, gorgeous old trees, and charming gardens. It also serves as a community space for the people of Philadelphia and is free and open to the public, with the exception of the designated venue space. Ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outside (weather permitting), and reception will be under a tented pavilion. The restrooms are also located in the covered reception space in separate trailers, though there are indoor bathrooms available in the visitor center outside of the reception tent.
Yes! When you pull up to the venue there will be valets available to park your car. However, we will also be scheduling a shuttle to/from the hotel, so driving won't be necessary unless you want to. There are also plenty of Uber/Lyfts in the city if you'd prefer that method!
