Ceremony

5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

We invite our guests to wear their best formal wear such as an evening dress, jumpsuit or suit and tie.

Both our ceremony and reception will be held at The Commodore, which overlooks Nagawicka Lake. The ceremony will be outdoors at The Commodore's Pleasant View Pavilion. Cocktail hour will be immediately following the ceremony in this outdoor area, along with its accompanying Fountain Patio. The Commodore is about a 30 minute drive from downtown Milwaukee, and we will be providing roundtrip guest transportation, departing from Hotel Metro. Ubers and Lyfts are readily available in Milwaukee if you prefer to find your way, and there is ample parking at The Commodore for our locals (but we hope you consider taking our ride!). Stay tuned for more information on our transit as we get closer to our date.

Post-Wedding Sendoff

11:30 am - 1:30 pm

We booked a private area in this "food truck park" to have some casual breakfast and drinks! Swing by at any time -- bride and groom will be there with a Bloody Mary.

Travel

The Wedding Website of Katherine Richter and Byron Golub
Many of you will be traveling to Wisconsin to celebrate our marriage, and we cannot thank our community enough for the love and support!

Flight

Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport

For most direct route, we would recommend flying into Milwaukee (MKE) for our wedding weekend. It's also possible to fly into Chicago (ORD) and take a 1.5 hour Amtrak to Milwaukee's Intermodal Station. There are also major airports in Madison and Green Bay, which would be ~1-2 hours from downtown Milwaukee. Please feel free to contact Kat for any transit questions. She's become a pro over the years!

Hotel

Hotel Metro

411 East Mason Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202

We reserved a room block at the Hotel Metro, and the bride and groom will be staying onsite! The block has since sold out, so we suggest browsing the other options listed. Let us know if you need any additional suggestions!

Hotel

The Pfister Hotel

424 East Wisconsin Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53202

We do not have a discounted rate at The Pfister at this time, but it's a historic staple of Milwaukee (and a stone's throw from our hotel block!).

Hotel

Saint Kate - The Arts Hotel

139 East Kilbourn Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53202

Boutique hotel with an awesome lobby bar that's 9 minutes walk from the Hotel Metro.

Hotel

The Brewhouse Inn & Suites

1215 North 10th Street, Milwaukee, WI 53205

Right across the street from our welcome drinks and less than 1 mile from Hotel Metro! The hotel's notable features include six massive copper brewing kettles and a stained-glass window depicting King Gambrinus, the patron saint of beer.

Hotel

Kimpton Journeyman Hotel

310 East Chicago Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202

The Kimpton is located about a ~15 minute walk from Hotel Metro in the Third Ward. They have a fantastic rooftop bar with fireplaces and we'd recommend a stay here, as well. Note we do not have a discounted rate here at this time.

Things To Do...And Eat

Feel free to contact Kat and Byron for any additional tips, outside of our ideas below!
Milwaukee Art Museum

Milwaukee Art Museum

700 North Art Museum Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53202

World-class art collection and a gorgeous view of Lake Michigan within a beautiful building by Santiago Calatrava. Don't skip the museum cafe's lattes!

Lakefront Brewery

Lakefront Brewery

1872 North Commerce Street, Milwaukee, WI 53212

Check out their daily tours for "50 minutes of facts, lore, jokes, and beer." Pro tip: eat their cheese curds! Thank you Mariah Schlossmann for the pictured example of Wisconsin dairy.

Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery

Best Place at the Historic Pabst Brewery

917 West Juneau Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53233

Enjoy a classic Pabst or Schlitz draft beer during an informative beer tour. Multiple time slots per day!

American Family Field

American Family Field

1 Brewers Way, Milwaukee, WI 53214

The Brewers are playing the Angels on the eve of our wedding. If you're a diehard MLB fan, we won't blame you for checking out the stadium brat and famous Sausage Race on the field.

Harley-Davidson Museum

Harley-Davidson Museum

400 West Canal Street, Milwaukee, WI 53201

Milwaukee is home to the world's only Harley-Davidson museum! It's open Thursday-Sunday for browsing.

Milwaukee Public Market

Milwaukee Public Market

400 North Water Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202

Byron approves of the lobster roll at St. Paul Fish Company within the Public Market. St. Paul also has a Tiki Bar on the market's perimeter called The Palapa. Check them out along with the slew of other vendors!

South Shore Farmers’ Market

South Shore Farmers’ Market

2900 South Shore Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53207

If you plan to stick around Saturday, South Shore Park offers a great farmer's market to swing by and catch some fresh Lake Michigan breeze. There's also a Beer Garden right next to the market.

Honeypie Cafe

Honeypie Cafe

2569 South Kinnickinnic Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53207

If you'd like a hearty brunch or lunch, try Honeypie Cafe, right next to Nonfiction Wine. Byron endorses the burger, and we suggest you save room for dessert.

Nonfiction Natural Wines

Nonfiction Natural Wines

2563 South Kinnickinnic Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53207

Bay View has a plethora of bars and restaurants, and Nonfiction doubles as both wine shop and bar. This would be a short Uber ride away from the recommended hotels. For the New Yorkers, it's Milwaukee's The Four Horsemen!

The Wicked Hop

The Wicked Hop

345 North Broadway, Milwaukee, WI 53202

The Wicked Hop has a famous Bloody Mary served at their brunch, and it's conveniently across the street from Milwaukee Public Market.

Colectivo Lakefront

Colectivo Lakefront

1701 North Lincoln Memorial Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53202

Coffee roasters Colectivo have one of the most expansive patios in Milwaukee. It's a great spot for coffee, smoothies, light breakfast food and a lake view. Note they have 12 total locations in Milwaukee, but this is our fave!

Saffron - Modern Indian Dining

Saffron - Modern Indian Dining

223 North Water Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202

Delicious (spicy!) Indian food and cocktails in Milwaukee's Third Ward area. Weather permitting, they have a patio that seats you across from the Milwaukee River, where you're likely to see pontoons and kayakers go by (like Julie pictured at the restaurant above!).

Carnevor

Carnevor

718 North Milwaukee Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202

A premier steakhouse with the finest wet and dry-aged USDA prime and Japanese Wagyu beef in Milwaukee. It is a 1 minute walk from Hotel Metro and The Pfister.

Zarletti

Zarletti

741 North Milwaukee Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202

Zarletti has been open for more than 20 years, serving flavorful, northern-regional Italian-inspired dishes. This is also a 1 minute walk from The Pfister and Hotel Metro.

Avli Milwaukee

Avli Milwaukee

1818 North Hubbard Street, Milwaukee, WI 53212

Milwaukee Bucks MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is a part owner of this Greek restaurant. It is walkable from Lakefront Brewery.

Room Service Bayview

Room Service Bayview

2159 A2 South Kinnickinnic Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53207

This is a trendy new restaurant in Milwaukee that has amazing Japanese-Thai fusion. If you'd like to dine here, we suggest checking reservations in advance or giving the restaurant a call directly. Room Service is also located in Bay View so anticipate a car ride's distance from the hotel recommendations.

DanDan

DanDan

360 East Erie Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202

DanDan is a Chinese-American restaurant co-founded by Dan Jacobs, who was runner-up of Top Chef season 21.

Sobelmans on St. Paul

Sobelmans on St. Paul

1900 West Saint Paul Avenue, Milwaukee, WI 53233

Another Byron burger endorsement! We would say the whole city of Milwaukee endorses Sobelman's, too, and even their Bloody Marys have gotten national recognition (one option has a whole chicken garnish...). There's a great brewery called Third Space Brewing you can pop to within walking distance.

Milwaukee Sail Loft

Milwaukee Sail Loft

649 East Erie Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202

A riverside patio perfect for a glass of wine or appetizer, located in the Third Ward area. They also offer indoor bar seating, but we primarily recommend Sail Loft for a sunny day!

Registry

We took engagement photos with our wedding photographer. We're pictured here in the Milwaukee Public Library.
We also took photos in Lake Park, which was designed by Frederick Olmsted. He also designed another recognizable place we love, Central Park.
We celebrated our engagement in Byron's parents' backyard in Brooklyn. It was truly an unforgettable day!
From Fire Island to Greece, we love catching a sunset!
Enjoying a picnic in Saltaire, Fire Island, where we're always barefoot!
Thanksgiving 2022 in Paris (Kat hasn't worn the hat since).
Byron's murder mystery birthday party will never be topped.
We met in September 2020, so there's no shortage of masked selfies. Here we are before riding a hot air ballon in Mexico City.
For all the days along the way
