Please note this hotel is in Manhattan, but it is on the lower side of Manhattan, so it should be a short cab ride into Dumbo, Brooklyn.
Flight
NYC has 3 major airports, but Laguardia is our favorite and most reliable. Once you leave the airport, you can stand in line for a yellow cab or call an uber/lyft on your phone from the luggage pickup area. It should take around 30-50 minutes to drive from Laguardia to Dumbo, Brooklyn.
Flight
JFK is our second favorite airport in NYC. Cab ride from JFK to Dumbo, Brooklyn would be about 30-60 minutes, depending on traffic.
Flight
Newark airport is another great choice for flights. But note that it would be a bit of a further drive. Once you arrive in Newark airport, you can either take a yellow cab/lyft/uber to Dumbo or you can take a train into Penn Station then take a yellow cab/lyft/uber to Dumbo, Brooklyn. This would probably be our third choice for airports in NYC.
Train
Anywhere you're traveling in NYC, you should have an option to take the subway. You can tap your credit card to get into the subway, then put your destination into maps on your phone, click subway, and your maps will tell you what trains to take and what stops to get off. Most trains have wifi, but make sure you put in the address ahead of time just in case you lose wifi temporarily. Rides are around $3 flat rate. Always leave an extra 20 minutes if you are using the subway to get somewhere, as there are sometimes delays.
Travel Note
We tried to plan the events as close together as possible to limit transportation. But taking a car often sounds better than walking, especially when your beautiful heels are not also comfortable. So download these 3 apps ahead of time to make getting a car easy. Go to the app store and download Lyft, Uber, and Curb. When you're ready to get a car to take you somewhere: open the app, type in your destination, and choose the car you want. You should only have to wait about 5-10 minutes. Or if you see a yellow cab with its light on, stick out your hand and call it over to you. On Lyft/Uber/Curb, you can enter your credit card info and save it in the app, so you can quickly pay for a car. I am not a Lyft/Uber/Curb ambassador but believe in planning ahead :)
Travel Note
The closest parking lot to 26 Bridge (the reception venue) is Park Kwik located on 20 Jay st. BK NY 11201.
Travel Note

Join in our tradition of grabbing a coffee/donut from Dough within Time Out Market and enjoying the beautiful views on the riverwalk.
Shout out to Peter's brother James for showing us this hidden gem. One of the few spots in NYC where you can sit by the sand and get a perfect view of Manhattan.
In between wedding events or the morning of the wedding, grab a coffee and bagel and walk in Dumbo park, enjoying the beautiful view of the city and sounds of the water. Peter used to play basketball here, and Peter and Kate love taking walks here when they visit Dumbo.
Tons of cool, vintage vendors selling random trinkets, clothes, gifts, etc. An easy way to kill a couple hours!
Cute coffee shop near the water. This could be a good option for a coffee/pastry after the wedding ceremony.
In between the ceremony and reception, stroll along the shopping streets in Dumbo and check out this cool records store!
If you need to let off some energy, check out this arcade/mini bowling/laser tag rustic event space that is only 2 blocks from the reception venue!
Enjoy a stunning view of the Manhattan Bridge in this popular Instagram spot!
Governor's Island is a great place to explore if you have extra time on Friday or Sunday. If you go to the ferry port in southern Manhattan/Brooklyn, you can ride the ferry to Governor's Island for free. Then, when you get to the island, you can rent bikes, explore the island, and take amazing photos of the city. This is one of our favorite ways to spend an afternoon and take friends. Ferry ride is about 20 minutes. And there are usually food trucks on the island, so you can take a break on the bike ride and grab lunch!
Visit our favorite comedy club in Manhattan on Friday night (Comedy Cellar on MacDougal St). But be sure to book your tickets more than a month in advance because reservations sell out early!
Peter and Kate spent their 5 year anniversary seeing Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. Look ahead of time and see if there are any shows you'd want to see on Friday night/Sunday afternoon.
Never had a sky view of the city before? Summit One Vanderbilt has incredible views of the city on top of a skyscraper and interactive areas to take photos. We went with Kate's family a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the experience. Could be a great activity for Friday or Sunday. Just remember to get tickets ahead of time.
Great question! May 1, 2026 would be great.
We kindly ask that our wedding be an adult-only occasion. Thank you for understanding!
The dress code is formal attire (black tie optional). This means mid to long dresses and suits for the men. There is a lot of public transportation in NYC, but if you're planning to walk between events, remember to bring a separate pair of shoes so your feet don't get worn out before the reception!
