Our Story
In February 2013, Kate was in Pau, France, on a work holiday visa, while Thomas lived and worked in Paris. They met while Thomas was visiting a friend for a skiing weekend for dinner and drinks. After staying connected through constant messaging, they met up again in Paris a month and half later. After visiting each other back and forth and traveling together through the spring, Kate then moved in with Thomas in early July. Now, 11 an dhalf years later, with a dog and baby, they're excited to tie the knot officially.

Question
What is the attire?
Answer
Our wedding theme is garden-party formal; therefore, we encourage you to dress up. But since we will be on the grass outside, we encourage no spiky heals. Please also bring layers as the evenings are usually cool in the Kootenays. Please note that the entire event will be outdoors; although, we will have tents for shade and/or help keep us dry if it rains.

What is the weather like in the area?
Answer
Since it's July it could be hot, around 35°C or wet and cool. Since we are in the mountains, the evenings cool off so we advice you to bring a jacket or warm layers and an umbrella just in case. If the weather is sunny, there will be limited shade early on in the day but by late afternoon the event should be mostly shaded. Please bring sunscreen. In Crescent Valley, we don't have too many mosquitos, but once in a while after it rains we will have several. We will provide bug spray near the toilets just in case.

How do I get to the wedding venue?
Answer
You can drive, and we will have plenty of parking. Please look for our parking helpers to help us maximize the room for all our guests. Otherwise, there is a bus from Nelson or Castlegar with a stop at Crescent Valley, about 500 m from the event.

Yes, there will be ample parking on the property.

What can we expect during the cocktail hour?
Answer
We will be providing some light refreshments and drinks (both acholic and non-alcoholic) to accompany mingling and games (optional).

Will there be transportation back to Nelson after the dance party?
Answer
If there is enough interest for a safe ride back to Nelson after the wedding, we will organize transportation. Please note your interest on your RSVP; we will contact you afterwards.

Is there a gift registry?
Answer
Your presence is more than enough; we want to celebrate our love with you. However, if you want to give a gift you can contribute to our honey moon fund.

Is there going to be an activity for the day after the wedding?
Answer
Yes, we are planning on spending the afternoon on or close to the water, rafting and/or tubing, and on the beach.
