Things To Do

Prepare for your Trip with Chef Bourdain

Prepare for your Trip with Chef Bourdain

Do a little homework before you jump over the Atlantic by watching Season 3, Episode 10, of the acclaimed series, Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations. This series was a formative experience for both of us, and Chef Bourdain holds a special place in both of our hearts. He inspired our love of both travel and great food. We hope this will inspire you to want to experience the Tuscan countryside in the same way Tony would -- with great friends, eating great food, and taking in all Italy has to offer.

Castello di Strozzavolpe

Castello di Strozzavolpe

Località Luco, Toscana 53036, Italy

About 30 minutes by car from the Venue, this historic castle was built in 1154. 30 hectares of vineyards surround the castle, and is still an active winery. In addition to delicious wine, the Castello also produces extra virgin olive oil.

Siena

Siena

Siena, Tuscany 53100, Italy

Siena is the capital of the Siena Province of Italy. About 45 minutes from the Venue, Siena boasts a rich history and vivid culture. Siena was founded by Etruscan settlers between 900 and 400 BC. A quick car ride from the Venue will land you in an ancient city with a wonderful food and restaurant scene and breathtaking architecture. This town is about as Italian as you can get!

Fattoria Casa Sola

Fattoria Casa Sola

5 Strada di Cortine, Toscana 50028, Italy

This winery has an impressive 70,000 hectares of land surrounding it. It produces organic "Chianti Classico". Only 15 minutes' drive from the Venue, Casa Sola would be a great place to stock up on phenomenal Tuscan wines to ship back to the states (or bring back to the Venue to enjoy on the terrace at sunset!).

Ponte di San Marziale Entrance - Parco Fluviale Alta Val D'Elsa

Ponte di San Marziale Entrance - Parco Fluviale Alta Val D'Elsa

Colle di Val d'Elsa, Toscana 53034, Italy

For those who are looking for a little more rugged adventure, check out the Ponte Di San Marziale waterfalls. A 4km trail guides you around the Elsa river and the breathtaking scenery of Tuscany. You'll be able to see ancient ruins of 11th century hydraulic works, which provided power to paper mills, iron works, and other early artisanal and industrial activities.
