After much thought and consideration, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our upcoming wedding. While we understand that this news may be unexpected, we appreciate your understanding and support during this time. - - - Fate brought Jesse and Kara together over a dating app, when Kara had absolutely no hope and assumed Jesse to be a mirage if not a catphish. As many of you know, however, Jesse is a real, live, human man and not a catphish. They had real, live Mexican food, and went to real, live concerts, and parties, and Spain, and sports events; (many sports events). With every date and each passing moment, it became clearer to Kara that Jesse was indeed what the dating app had advertised: a compatible soulmate. Then in the summer of ‘23, Jesse followed Kara to Italy where she was studying for a semester of her Masters degree. They got to visit the setting of their favourite movie, “Gladiator,” and even went to the Tuscan countryside where Maximus famously touches grass. It was here that Jesse seized his moment to propose to Kara. She said “Sic!” (Latin for “Yes.") and to this day, she still makes fun of him for calling the Tuscan landscape a “backdrop.” - - - Know that you have played important supporting roles in both of our lives.
