Last year, while Don and I were out on a date at Fredonia Brewery, we decided to play a game of truth or dare. Being the courageous person that I am, I chose dare. Unfortunately, Don had something up his sleeve. There was no way out of this one—based on the ancient laws of the game, of course. Next thing I know, I, the epitome of gracefulness, was attempting to ‘hardcore parkour’ all over outdoor benches and tables in front of everyone. On our way to Front Porch Distillery, I plotted my marvelous revenge. I dared him to stage a fake proposal in front of his unsuspecting friends—who I was supposed to be meeting for the first time. “Ha,” I thought, “that’ll teach him to mess with me!” However, Don, who we all know won’t back down from a challenge, made a ring out of a sunflower and completed his dare without even flinching. I’ll get him back one day for embarrassing the mess out of me, but that night was an adventure of laughter, love, and a bit of mischief that we will always remember. And a sunflower ring that I will keep forever.
