Seth (Smoothie) met Kai (Crouton) in Philadelphia on October 4th, 2019 after a week connecting on a dating app. While the chances of matching on the app happened by luck, the deep connection they forged was entirely them. Their first date began at Marathon Grill, where Seth nervously awaited for Kai’s arrival. When she arrived, Seth introduced himself with “Hi, I’m Michael.” Definitely not the name Kai was expecting. Seth says he was so enthralled by Kai’s beauty, that he forgot his name. Not so smooth, Smoothie. The fun began in the restaurant. With several well-made drinks, salmon and a messy Marathon burger, great conversations filled the air for hours. In between bites, they discussed John Rawls' Veil of Igonorance, Simone De Beauvoir’s Second Sex, space facts, politics, and more. Seth was enchanted with her mind, sincerity, and depth. Kai enamored with his playful wit, energy, and creativity. The date made complete with an offer of a sweater, a walk home, and a kiss, Seth and Kai have been inseparable ever since. These lovebirds are now ready to take their next flight and join together as husband and wife. Fun fact: After watching the TV show, Secret Chef, they created chef names for each other! Seth is Chef Smoothie; Kai is Chef Crouton. They like to use chef names when they’re cooking and feeling playful.
