Come celebrate with us - worship and give all thanks and glory to Him who first loved us and brought us together.
Joo and Juwon first met while serving youth ministry at IN2 Church. Juwon realized Joo was a rare find and persistently pursued her. It took some time for Joo to open her heart, but once she did, they moved forward quickly. [January 2025 _ Met for the first time] Juwon: "I thought she had a cute Busan accent but nothing more. But after learning more about her I realized she shares so much of what is important to my heart and is like me in many ways - except better." Joo: "When we first met, I just thought of Juwon as the super faithful, dependable youth teacher who was always ready to help me out! Little did I know God was up to something!" [July 2025 _ First date at Village Vanguard & Hudson River Park] Juwon: "At first she wasn't responsive to me making gestures towards her and asking her out. I didn't want to overextend to make her feel uncomfortable, but I also didn't relent. She gradually (i.e. painfully slowly) opened up and I nervously took her out on our first date." Joo: "By this point, I had already noticed his interest in me for a while. But during our mission trip to Guatemala, I began to see the beauty of his heart more clearly and decided maybe it was time to get to know him better. Our first date felt surprisingly natural and deeply peaceful." [August 2025 _ Officially started dating] Juwon: "After going on several dates, I wanted to make it official. But when I asked her, she just stopped talking. After a few more dates I asked her again. And again, she wouldn't say a word." Joo: "When he first asked me to be his girlfriend, I went completely silent for ten minutes—praying, panicking, and overthinking all at once 😅. But Juwon waited quietly and even another whole month until I decided to date him." [October 2025 _ Surprise Proposal] Juwon: "The proposal took place during our trip to Korea, where we were visiting each other's parents. I was actually surprised because the trip got moved up and I wasn't sure I could pull it off in such a short time. To both our surprise, it was smoother and more meaningful that I could have hoped to prepare for." Joo: "I began to realize this wasn’t just any relationship but something God had been gently preparing me for all along. In October, he surprised me with the most thoughtful proposal. I cried, I laughed, and... I said yes!" [December 2025 _ The Wedding] Juwon & Joo: "As we prepare for our wedding, we are in awe of God’s perfect timing and plan. We’re thankful, excited, and ready for this next chapter, learning together what it truly means to love like Jesus."
