We met at a picnic on Roosevelt Island that I organized for friends from Church and he was invited by someone I knew. He arrived late, because I gave him the wrong address (or so he says). I gave them a tour on that sunny (extremely hot) day. All of us exchanged instagrams, so I didn't think much of it. I went on with my summer travels the week after. After a month of traveling, I finally came home. That week, I went to an afternoon service at Church and we ran into each other. Later that day he asked me out for "tea." I found a place that closed at 8pm and we met at 7. I wasn´t sure who this guy was, he might be a creep- I decided to give him one hour. Will he impress me? Well, we´re here. One time after an 8AM church group meeting, I found myself talking to a friend about my fiancée. As we chatted, she described Michelle as someone who has the gift to disarm people quickly. I think that description encapsulates her personality perfectly. She has such a big heart! I am frequently gobsmacked by how she loves. She makes time during the day to bring flowers for friend who recently got surgery. She reaches out to the non-english speaking immigrant teenager to hear her story and help her settle. And she cries for almost anyone who is going through anything! Watching her often makes me reflect and question my own inability to extend grace and kindness to others. She inspires the heck out of me! I´m blessed to be marrying such an amazing woman and we would love to have you join us then.
