We know it's been over a decade since we got together, and we've caused MANY of y'all to lose bets on when we were getting engaged. Most of you probably assumed we were already married or were doing that new trendy 'life partner without marriage' thing. SURPRISE! We decided to take our love for legally binding contracts (and each other) and just do the damn thing. And in classic Meredith fashion, if she's going to take time and energy to put something together, it's gonna be worth it, damn it!
5:00 pm - 11:00 pm
This event is black-tie optional. The venue itself is very 'old hollywood/art deco' so feel free to lean into the theme! There will be velvet. And bowties.
Flight
Most flights will fly you into LAX, which is about a 45-minute drive to Hollywood. If you CAN fly into Burbank Airport, we recommend it as it's smaller and easier to navigate, but they don't have as many flight options and tend to be more expensive.
Hotel
We have a block of rooms held at the Everly Hotel which also happens to be a 5 minute walk from the venue! Individual reservations must be canceled at least 48 hours prior to arrival to avoid a one-night room and tax penalty. The booking link will display a $44 fee, but this will be waived at hotel check-out for all reservations made through your group link as part of our negotiated concessions. If you would like to book any dates outside our block - please reach out to Beth or Meredith who can get that added to the group block (based on availability).
August 15th
Doors open at 4:45pm - please arrive by 5pm.
While we recommend Uber or Lyft, The Avalon has a large parking lot right next door.
Unfortunately, we are only able to accommodate those who are included on the invite.
If they are over 21 and their names are on the invite, yes! Otherwise, no.
We have a block of rooms held at The Everly Hotel. Please make your travel arrangements by September 1st to take advantage of the group rate.
We have a honeyfund! We promise we have enough stuff, but are hoping to travel next year. Help us with our dream! Or don't! We won't judge.
Our venue is right in the heart of Hollywood so it's worth walking around if you've never been! We'll be partying directly across from The Capitol Records building and around the corner from Amoeba Records for the musically inclined and the world famous Funko Museum for the plastic collectable inclined.
Another easy destination to get to from Hollywood - you can just explore the CityWalk shopping area outside of the park if you don't want to buy a ticket (which is an adventure in itself). HOT TIP: If you have AMC A-List, you can get $5 parking if you are 'seeing a movie' at the Universal AMC.
It's beautiful. It's free. We love free! Parking is a bit of a mess but the views of LA are worth it.
This museum is fairly new and super cool for movie lovers. Just be aware - you might be tempted to rewatch The Godfather again after visiting.
Another museum! If you like modern art, check it out. If that's not your thing... maybe just go and take an Instagram photo by the street lamp installation outside so you can tell all your friends you went and save yourself $20.
After over a decade in LA, Meredith has never found out how to actually hike up to The Hollywood sign and is convinced you actually can't, but photos on social media seem to say otherwise! If you figure out how to get up there, let us know.
The pier (and close by 3rd Street Promenade) is definitely worth walking around and exploring. The promenade is a short walk and has a lot of great shopping as well! If you're looking for a beach to lay out/sunbathe on - do not go here.
Also not a "lay out and relax beach" in our opinion, but it is the best for people watching. The Venice Boardwalk is famous for a reason and nearby Abbott Kinney also has great shopping boutiques.
