Kelsey Herman

and

Joseph Johnson

July 13, 2026

Boulder, CO

How the Wedding Day Went

Kelsey and Joe woke up, drank coffee together, and hurriedly got the car packed with Kelsey's dress, shoes, and everything else a girl could possibly need on her wedding day. Joe and Kelsey read private vows while waiting for people to arrive. Joe's eyes "were sweating.. cuz it's hot out. No other reason". Kelsey and her wedding party, along with her mom, Joe's mom, and Joe's Great Aunt, had hair and makeup done at a gorgeous home in Boulder. Joe and his wedding party ate lunch with his family and then went back to his apartment to get ready! Joe and his wedding party joined Kelsey and her wedding party at the home in Boulder, where Joe helped Kelsey get into her dress. Together, everyone went to the venue to start on family photos. From there, it was time to hide away until guests were seated. While there were a few mishaps during the ceremony, it was the exact way it was supposed to be! Joe walked down the aisle to Concerning Hobbits from Lord of the Rings. Kelsey walked down the aisle to Across the Stars from Star Wars. A surprise guest joined everyone at cocktail hour. A mini Highland Cow named Moofasa! Joe and Kelsey signed their marriage license, bustled the dress with the help of Kelsey's Sister-in-Law Kristen, and did their big grand entrance straight into their first dance! Grand Entrance Song was Everytime We Touch by Cascada First Dance Song was Baby I'm Yours by Arctic Monkeys After a wonderful welcome speech by The Hermans, Kelsey and Joe gave a Thank you Speech, followed by a Blessing by The Johnsons. Kelsey's Maid of Honor, Emily, gave an amazing speech that Kelsey will forever remember. Joe's Best Man, Tristin, gave a deeply personal speech that truly had everyone tearing up. Joe and Kelsey cut the cake and then everyone moved to the dancing area. Kelsey and Dan Herman did the Father Daughter dance to Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder. Joe and Tess Johnsons did the Mother Son dance to Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd. After completing a group photo, the dance floor opened and the rest of the night was somewhat of a blur! Kelsey and Joe did a private last dance to Like Real People Do by Hozier and then did a grand exit with their favorite people and bubble guns. Thank you to everyone who supported us as individuals and now supports us together. We love you all.

How We Met

We met at the cafeteria of Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, AZ. While it wasn't love at first sight, it was the beginning of a friendship that blossomed into a relationship. Kelsey knew Joe was the one for her when he pulled his socks over his jeans while they were bowling. Joe knew Kelsey was the one for him when she listened to his caffeine fueled rants about engineering problems. He asked her to be his girlfriend too many times to count before she finally said yes.

Our First Kiss

After a few months of getting to know each other, Kelsey and Joe went to a bonfire with friends. It was there when Kelsey decided to make the first move and kiss Joe. That was only the beginning...

The Proposal

Joe took Kelsey to Sandstone Ranch. The St. Vrain river running in front of them and the Rocky Mountains in the distance to their right. Joe set up a picnic with some of their favorite foods. He got down on one knee and after Kelsey stopped crying, he asked her to marry him. Obviously she said yes!
