In 2012, we were both living in the Detroit area and we were both single. Our mutual friend Ferrare wanted to set us up, but neither of us were interested--me because I didn't feel like I was in a good place for a relationship and Jordan because all of his friends were either married or dating a Jennifer, so he didn't want to date a Jennifer too. After that, Ferrare and Matt got engaged, and scheduled their wedding for the fall of 2013. Ferrare asked me to be a bridesmaid, and Matt asked Jordan to be a groomsman. Unfortunately, their wedding date was the same as Jordan's sister Alisha, so Jordan had to turn Matt's invitation down. But, in a simple twist of fate, Matt and Ferrare had to postpone their wedding to May 31, 2014. Jordan was able to be a groomsman again! We met on May 30 at the rehearsal dinner. At the rehearsal, we didn't talk because we weren't walking together. Once at the dinner at Bilbo's, Ferrare and Dominic were very obnoxious about trying to get me to sit next to Jordan. I made an inappropriate joke to Matt St. Peter and Jordan laughed that loud, booming laugh he has, and that was when I knew he was something special. When we met, I was living in the Muskegon area and Jordan was still living in the Detroit area, hoping for a transfer at work. After nine months of a long-distance relationship, Jordan got his transfer and we were finally together. We got engaged September 11, 2017, the night before I left for a conference in Arizona. Jordan was going to meet me in Arizona after the conference so we could go to the Grand Canyon together, and he planned to proposed there, but was too anxious to wait. Now we're looking forward to our wedding on September 22, 2018, in our hometown of Kalamazoo!
