Possible Activities

Below are a list of activities in Alaska that we have enjoyed and recommend. If you happen to be in Alaska prior to wedding, Jordan and I will be scheduling time to do some of these. When filling out your RSVP please list any of these that interest you and your dates you'll be in town. Please feel no obligation, we are just excited to see you at the wedding.
Independence Historical Mine

Independence Historical Mine

A gorgeous old mine located an hour and half drive North of Anchorage. The mine has some stunning slightly vertical hike loops taking you around one of Alaska's largest gold mining camps. Many of the houses have been upkept and have informational plaques about the camp.

Powerline Pass

Powerline Pass

A stunning walk, just 20 minute drive from Bradner's Home, in the mountains of Chugach State Park. There are many hikes in the area some more challenging like Flat Top but the main walk along the powerline is relatively flat and wide with stunning view of mountains along side of you as you walk along a creek pass.

Portage Glacier Boat Tour

Portage Glacier Boat Tour

South of Anchorage, Portage Glacier is one of the most accessible glaciers. The area includes a Boat tour for $49 per Adult, and a few hikes in the area all stemming off of the Trail of Blue Ice.

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

AWCC a sanctuary dedicated to preserving Alaska’s wildlife is a walkable or drivable 1.5 mile loop. $25 per person to enter, the area is full of animals and great place to take photos and see these animals closer than you'd expect.

Alyeska Arial Tram

Alyeska Arial Tram

Alyeska Ski Resort in the summer has some stunning views. The area has some simple hiking trails along the base and some more vertical ones along the top. The tram is a great way to take in the area at a round trip cost of $43 per person its a good day trip that I'd suggest packing a meal and enjoying the sights.
