Jon and Sam’s love story began in 2015, when they were just 15 and 16 years old. Sam’s mom had a rule that she couldn’t have a boyfriend until she turned 16, Jon was incredibly patient and waited almost a year until she finally started dating him behind her back (don’t worry, she knows now—sorry, Mom!). Sam’s mom always told her that if Jon liked her enough, he would wait… and it turns out she was right because here they are! Jon got back at Sam, though, because she ended up waiting nine years for the ring. After a couple of years of dating in high school, it was time for Jon to go to college at Coastal Carolina. He made it through one semester before transferring to UConn. Jon says he came back to Connecticut because he loved UConn, but everyone knew the real reason—he missed Sam so much he couldn’t stay away! Everything worked out exactly as it was meant to, and some of their best memories are from their time at UConn, but those stories are for another day. One of the things they value most about their relationship is that they’ve essentially grown up together. They’ve navigated so many of life’s big stages and “firsts” side by side. And, of course, they can’t forget their most important “first” dog… Charli! She’s the most special pup in the entire world and Jon’s constant shadow. Charli even had her share of fun at UConn. What makes their relationship truly special is that they’ve always been best friends. Through all the ups and downs, the highs and lows, they’ve stood by each other’s side. They bring out the best in one another, always offering support and encouragement, and inspire each other to grow and become the best versions of themselves. As they continue this journey together, they’re excited to keep building new “firsts” and taking on life as a team. They can’t wait to share their special day with you.
