Unanticipated but Intentional

Our Love Story Continues

The first time Jayson and I crossed paths was during my college days. He had come to visit my brother at our apartment. At that time, I didn’t know him at all. I even scolded my brother in front of him for letting random people into my room. Jayson was caught off guard but also intrigued by my boldness that was his first impression of me. Over time, he would message me occasionally, but I didn’t pay much attention since I was not interested. Fast forward to 2023, I came across his post on Facebook and got curious because it matched my brother’s schedule. I decided to message him, asking if they were classmates. He confirmed that they were, and from there, our conversations grew longer and more interesting. At some point, he even confessed that it was all just a prank. At the time, I was working in Pagadian City, while Jayson was in Cebu City. Timeline of Our Story • July 27, 2023 – Our first meeting. It was around 10 PM at Sandalo Apartment, where I was staying. He had just gotten off work, and we had planned to meet. I was hesitant at first since it was our first time seeing each other in person. • July 30, 2023 – Just a few days after our first meeting, he asked if he could formally ask my parents for their blessing, hinting at his serious intentions. • August 5, 2023 (11:06 PM) – The day we both confessed our feelings for each other. • October 20, 2023 – Our first trip together as a couple to Siargao. • December 16, 2023 – Jayson visited me again, creating another special memory in our journey. • December 26, 2023 – My first time trekking—though it wasn’t his. But it was definitely my last because I nearly passed out! • March 8, 2024 – I traveled to CDO to attend his friend’s wedding and, more importantly, to spend time with him after being apart for two months. • March 28, 2024 – I traveled to Cebu just to see him—completely head over heels in love! • May 17, 2024 – Jayson came back to Pagadian to celebrate my birthday with me. Since my birthday is on the 18th and his is on the 25th, we’re just a week apart. • August 5, 2024 – He returned to Pagadian to pick me up because I was finally moving to Cebu for work! • January 31, 2025 – We asked for both of our parents’ blessings. • February 23, 2025 – Jayson proposed to me at Tabuelan Beach, surrounded by our friends, making the day even more special. And that’s how our story began unexpectedly, but beautifully.

Our Memories

The Wedding Website of Jan Mayen and John Jayson
I love you if the skies stay clear, If laughter lingers in the air, If you are mine and always near, If life is light, if time is fair. I hold you close if you remain The person that I knew before, If passion burns without a strain, If love is ease and nothing more. But what of storms that break the day? Of changes neither willed nor planned? Will love still stand or drift away, Unanchored by a trembling hand? For love that bends with every tide, That fears the dark, that doubts the rain, Is love that’s only lived not tried, A fragile joy, a fleeting chain.
The thing is I loved her.
