How We Met

We met while working at Harris Teeter—both of us in training to become managers in different departments. Our first conversation was in the break room (though one of us doesn’t remember it—guess who!). After training, we were both placed at the same store and immediately reconnected since we already knew each other. John asked me out a few times, but I wasn’t looking for a relationship at the time, so I politely turned him down. Thankfully, he didn’t give up easily. Eventually, I agreed to grab a beer “just as friends.” But by the end of that first hangout, it was pretty clear—we were never going to be just friends.

The Proposal

July 26, 2024

After seven years together (yes, seven!), John finally worked up the nerve to propose. There were a few failed attempts along the way, but he pulled it off in the most unexpected place: the airport. I had just landed after a girls’ trip, and there he was—waiting with flowers, a ring, and a sign that read Mrs. Boelter? Of course, I said yes.

FAQs

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

We love your little ones — but this will be an adults-only celebration. We hope you enjoy a night off to relax, celebrate, and have fun with us!

Question

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?

Answer

Yes! There will be parking available on-site.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Dressy casual. The celebration will be both indoors and outdoors, so we recommend dressing in layers and bringing a jacket in case it gets chilly. Collared shirts, sweaters, dress pants, midi dresses, or jumpsuits are all great options. Dressy boots are welcome! We kindly ask guests to avoid jeans, tank tops, or anything overly casual. If you’d wear it to a nice dinner or a semi-dressy event, you’re good to go.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with our closest friends and family! If your invitation includes a guest, their name (or “+1”) will be listed on the envelope or in your RSVP details

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

Yes! You can find all of our registry details right here on our website — just head to the “Registry” tab in the menu.
