As you all know...we are technically already married! In 2023 we had a lovely small ceremony in New York with our immediate family, but now we'll finally celebrate with all the people we love. We can't wait to party with you! Come tutti gia saprete...siamo tecnicamente gia sposati! Nel 2023 abbiamo fatto una piccola cerimonia a New York con le nostre famiglie, ma ora, finalmente, festeggermo con tutte le persone che amiamo. Non vediamo l'ora di far festa insieme!

Tenuta I Bonsi si trova a circa 50 minuti da Firenze e 1h 40 min da Pisa. Per chi desidera fermarsi a dormire, ci siamo messi in contatto con Villa Pitiana, a soli 15 minuti dalla tenuta. Depending on how you decide to spend your trip - Florence may not be your first or last stop. But we do recommend sleeping in Florence the night before the wedding so you can catch the shuttle bus on the 29th that will take you to the venue in the Tuscan countryside.

For all the guests in Florence, a shuttle departing from a central location will bring everyone to and from the venue on the day of the wedding. Details will follow.
Flight

Florence has an international airport (FLR), but there are no direct flights from the US. All flights will have a layover elsewhere in Europe (Viviana and I usually go this route). For a direct flight - or a way to kick off your mini Italian vacation - you can also fly into Milan or Rome and take a train to Florence (about 1h ride with the high-speed railroad).
Rental Car

We recommend taking trains and walking as much as possible, but a rental car may offer a bit more flexibility and comfort for some. If you decide to rent a car - be sure to purchase an International Drivers Permit as Italy REQUIRES it for all drivers. It can be done quickly and easily here on the website linked below.

Food & Drink – Try bistecca alla Fiorentina (Florentine steak), All'antico Vinaio - the legendary Florentine sandwich shop (schiacciata), Lampredotto (tripe sandwich), Coccoli (salted fried dough served with cheese and prosciutto), gelato, and aperitivo at an outdoor bar. Museums & Art – Uffizi Gallery (Botticelli’s Birth of Venus), Accademia (Michelangelo’s David), Cappelle Medicee, Palazzo Pitti & Boboli Gardens. Must-See Areas – Piazza del Duomo (Cathedral, Baptistery, Giotto’s Bell Tower), Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, Piazalle Michelangelo (Perfect sunset view), Oltrarno for artisans. Day Trips from Florence – Chianti wine country, Siena, Pisa, or the Tuscan countryside. Busses and trains can take you anywhere. Tips – it might be hot - plan accordingly, book museum tickets early, wear comfy shoes, and wander side streets for hidden trattorias. (Don't hesitate to ask for food recommendations!)
Beyond Florence
Train travel makes exploring beyond Tuscany safe and simple! High-speed trains connect Florence to Italy’s top cities, so you can fit in more of the country during your week. Travel times are for slightly more expensive high speed trains, but regional trains connect these cities for cheaper! Rome – 1.5 hrs. Top choice for 2–3 days: Colosseum, Roman ruins, Vatican, piazzas. Cinque Terre – 2.5–3 hrs. Great for a long day trip or 1–2 nights of hiking & seaside views. Venice – 2 hrs. Magical with an overnight; canals, Piazza San Marco, gondolas. Milan – 2 hrs. Overnight stay for Duomo, Last Supper, shopping. For longer trips: Lake Como – 3.5 hrs. 2+ days for lakeside villas & ferries. Amalfi Coast – 4–5 hrs (train + transfer). Best with 3+ days in Positano/Amalfi. Dolomites – 4–5 hrs. Needs 3+ days for alpine towns & mountain hikes. (Don't hesitate to ask for food recommendations!)
