How We MetHow We Met
In December 2020, in the middle of a world that had slowed down, our story quietly began. A dear friend, Yvon, had a feeling we might be something special—and without much warning, he brought us together on a WhatsApp call. What started as a simple group chat turned into something neither of us expected. The conversation flowed effortlessly, and even through screens and distance, there was an instant sense of ease. At the time, Winnie was living in Birmingham, UK, and Joel was in Bologna, Italy—but that didn’t stop us. We kept talking, calling, and getting to know each other, one conversation at a time. A few months later, in March 2021, we met in person for the very first time in Bologna, right in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. That moment changed everything. What had been growing quietly from afar came to life—and that’s when the magic truly began.
