Travel

Flight

Puerto Vallarta (PVR)

Sayulita is located approximately a 45 minute drive north of Puerto Vallarta airport (PVR) where you should plan to fly in. A few things for you to consider as you plan your travel: Ensure you have a valid passport expiring no earlier than 6 months before your return to your home country. If you are planning to join us for Friday's welcome event, plan at least 3 hours post-flight for you to get through immigration and drive to Sayulita and check-in. We'll be starting at 7pm! You can pre-book airport transfer to Sayulita at sayulitaluxurytransportation.com or alternatively use Uber (~$30) or book a Taxi at the airport (~$60). While you can Uber to Sayulita from the airport, Ubers cannot legally pick you up from the town of Sayulita. Plan on pre-booking your return transportation to the airport so you don't have to think about it later. Once you're in Sayulita it is very walkable so you do not need to rent a car.

Shuttle

Wedding Day Transportation

April 12, 2025 4:30 pm

Our wedding will take place just a short drive outside of town. Transportation has been arranged to take you to our venue. Shuttles will meet you in town at Organi-K cafe starting at 4:30pm with all guests arriving by 5pm. Walking or taking your own private transportation is not recommended as there is no parking available at the venue. At the end of the evening, shuttles will return to bring all guests back to Sayulita.

Rental Car

Fuhgeddaboudit!

Sayulita is a very walkable town and parking is very limited so we don't recommend renting a car as it will likely be more hassle than help. If you have mobility needs or just want to get around with ease we recommend renting a golf cart instead, a very common way people get around in Sayulita (especially if your accommodations are up a hill). Find a local golf cart rental at: www.sayulitalife.com/golf-cart-rentals

Travel Note

Accomodations

Sayulita is a small surf town absent of large hotels and big resorts. Accommodations tend to be boutique hotels and private villa rentals so while we won't have any hotel room blocks, the options are plentiful! For guests looking to book a private villa, we recommend using Sayulita Life (https://www.sayulitalife.com) and/or AirBnB to find a villa that fits your group size - there are plenty of options for individuals, couples and groups if you want to stay together. Sayulita Life has the most properties, typically more than Airbnb. For hotels, booking.com is likely the best option for your search. Need help getting started? While not an exhaustive list of all Sayulita has to offer, we've curated a sample list of hotels and private villas but do recommend doing some of your own research to ensure the accommodation you choose suits your style. Be sure to check they have A/C, a pool, views or whatever you require. Stay local! For the days of our wedding events we recommend sticking to staying in Sayulita and do not recommend staying in Punta Mita, Puerta Vallarta or surrounding towns as this may make it difficult to travel back and forth, especially if it's later at night.

Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Joe Wiese and Eric Terrones

Explore the Town

Sayulita is a charming town with cobblestone streets, colorful buildings, and a vibrant art scene. Wander through the shops, browse the art galleries, and sample the delicious local cuisine.

Relax on the Beach

Sayulita boasts several beautiful beaches, each with its own unique charm. Sayulita Beach, the main beach in town, is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and people-watching. For a more relaxed experience, head to Carricitos Beach or Los Muertos Beach.

Hit the Surf

Sayulita is a world-renowned surf town, and for good reason. Consistent waves and a variety of breaks make it ideal for beginners and experienced surfers alike. You can find plenty of surf schools and camps offering lessons and rental by simply walking onto the main beach in town.

Yoga

Sayulita is a haven for yogis and wellness seekers. With stunning ocean views and a relaxed atmosphere, there are plenty of yoga studios offering classes for all levels.

Explore the Marieta Islands

A short boat trip away from Sayulita lie the Marieta Islands, a stunning archipelago with hidden beaches and unique wildlife. You can snorkel or swim in the crystal-clear waters, marvel at the rock formations, or even spot humpback whales during migration season.

FAQs

Question

Should I RSVP now?

Answer

Yes, please RSVP as soon as you can or by January 31, 2025.

Question

What airport should I fly into?

Answer

The closest airport is Puerto Vallarta (PVR). Sayulita is just a 45 minute drive from PVR.

Question

How do I get from Puerto Vallarta Airport to Sayulita?

Answer

Ubers are the easiest and most affordable option (~$30). You can also pre-book airport transfer at sayulitaluxurytransportation.com or use a Taxi at the airport (~$60). We do not recommend renting a car given limited parking and walkability of Sayulita.

Question

Is Uber/Lyft available in Sayulita?

Answer

While you can take an Uber from the airport to Sayulita and the town is very walkable, Uber's are not (legally) allowed to pick you up from the town of Sayulita. We suggest pre-booking your transport from Sayulita back to the airport when you depart so you don't have to worry about it the day you leave. Try: sayulitaluxurytransportation.com/bookings

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

Stay local! For the days of our wedding events, book a spot in Sayulita. Staying in Puerto Vallarta or surrounding towns would make it difficult to travel back and forth, especially if it's later at night/after the welcome party or wedding reception. We've compiled a list of suggestions, but encourage you to use Sayulitalife.com or AirBnB to find your perfect space.

Question

What day/time do I need to fly in?

Answer

We'll be hosting a welcome dinner on Friday, April 11, 2025. To make it in time, plan to land by 4pm so you can get through customs and freshen up before dinner. The fiesta will start Friday at 7pm!

Question

When should I plan to leave Sayulita?

Answer

The wedding will end late Saturday night (April 12th) and while we don't have any formal events on Sunday, everyone is invited to the pool/beach for a Sunday "recovery day.” We would relish as much time as we can possibly get with you, but Sunday is totally optional.

Question

Can I drink the tap water?

Answer

Absolutely not. And be careful about eating street food. Wash your hands frequently and use bottled water when brushing your teeth :)

Question

Can I bring my kids?

Answer

We adore your little chicos and chicas but this weekend is adults only, besides Joe.
