We were just 2 singles trying out the dating apps. Hinge helped us match. We met up in Solana Beach at Culture and then Las Olas. We were living on opposite sides of San Diego. Ryan in Oceanside and Joana in Point Loma at that time. We had a great night! Joana even met Jim that night when she needed some water to drive back home hehe Joana thought she had gotten too drunk (1 beer and half a margarita). Whereas Ryan felt we lived too far apart to try to continue dating. It didn't work out for us at that time - we both were still finding ourselves individually. We both felt something real but we needed to wait. Come Spring of 2020, Ryan DM'd Joana one random day in May and asked if she wanted to go on a date again. Joana said "Yes, I'd love to, because it was so fun last time, but why now?" Ryan responded that he felt that we had a really good connection but we just lived too far apart from each other. Joana agreed to meet up again. They went on a second "first" date - meeting in Solana Beach again and playing soccer out in the yard. They had such a fun time and they played for a while, until Ryan farted out loud and Joana started dying laughing. That was the beginning of their story and adventures together!
