September 2020 So, a guy walks into a bar. Literally! The couple met at BandB Butcher in Houston, TX. DeJonique was at the bar grabbing a drink. While turning to head back to her table, she accidentally bumped into the guy standing a little too close for 2020 standards *cough cough*----JIMMY! If you know the groom, his next move was to offer to buy her a drink. She politely declined, but he was persistent. After sending a round over to DeJonique and her friends, the two exchanged numbers. Their first date was meant to be a casual lunch. That lunch turned into 9+ hours of getting to know one another, and the rest was history!

January 2023 Jimmy called in a few favors to get DeJonique tickets to the Jeezy x Atlanta Symphony concert that was scheduled to be held on her birthday in ATL. Dressed to the nines, they hired a photographer to capture the special evening. As they snapped photos in the lobby, the photographer suggested heading to the rooftop before the sun set for a few last-minute shots. Jimmy directed DeJonique’s attention to a beautiful set up that included a rose wall, candles and a saxophonist playing one of her favorite tunes “Here and Now” by Luther Vandross. Her exact words were, “I hope we don’t get in the way of this event while we try to take a few pictures!” Little did she know, the main event was for her! Jimmy walked her to the red carpet where he got down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage. Of course, the answer was YES!
