Ceremony

2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Bascilia of Our Lady Of Mount Carmel
343 Via Mt. Carmel Ave., Youngstown, OH 44505

Our wedding will be a traditional Catholic Nuptial Mass, which is a full service lasting approximately an hour. While we would be honored to have you there, we recognize that a long, religious ceremony isn't for everyone. Please feel no obligation to attend the Mass if you are not Catholic or if you’d simply prefer to skip the formal service. We look forward to seeing everyone at the reception!

Cocktail Hour

4:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Doors will open promptly at 4:15 PM for you to enjoy cocktails, canapés, and passed hors d'oeuvres as you await the evening ahead. Take advantage of our "bet on love" station in the garden, and be sure to find your escort card for your dinning arrangements.

Reception

6:00 pm - 11:30 pm

We invite you to join us in your finest formal attire. We are leaning into a maximalist aesthetic for the evening, so please feel encouraged to go "over the top"! Whether it’s a floor-length gown, a sharp tuxedo, bold colors, or statement accessories—don’t hold back. We can’t wait to see you dressed to the nines.

The reception festivities will be held in the grand ballroom following our cocktail hour. We ask that you begin taking your seats when doors open at 6:00 PM for dinner service to begin promptly at 6:30 PM. Following dinner, we will celebrate one of our favorite traditions: The Youngstown Cookie Table. An abundant spread of homemade cookies will be available for your enjoyment (and to take home!), alongside coffee and dessert. Once the cookies are served, the floor is yours! We look forward to a night of celebration and dancing until the party concludes at 11:30 PM.

Meet our family and friends joining us at the alter, who have helped endlessly to produce what is sure to be the most magical day.

FAQs

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, the dress code for our wedding is formal. Gentlemen: suits preferred, shirt and tie required. Ladies: cocktail attire required, dress to impress encouraged (evening gown; glitz and glamour). Please refrain from wearing any shade of white/cream/ivory, as this is reserved for the bride. Our ceremony is a traditional Catholic Mass--we ask that you dress conservatively if you are planning to attend the service.

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Your presence is the best gift we could ask for, however in case you would like to shop for us we have curated a registry to peruse. Our registry is linked here on our website; everything can be purchased right on the "Registry" page. If you wish to purchase an item outside of the website, you are able to mark the gift as "purchased elsewhere" to avoid duplicate gifts.

Question

What do I do in-between the ceremony and the reception?

Answer

We understand the gap of time between the ceremony and reception may be inconvenient to some of our guests. Please know that it is not required that you attend our ceremony, though we would love to have you there! The ceremony will take approximately 1 hour--if you are wondering how to fill your time after the ceremony, you are welcome to check out the "Things to Do" page on our website. The reception venue will open promptly at 4:15 PM for Cocktail Hour.

Question

Can I bring a Plus One?

Answer

Due to limited space, only invited guests will be permitted entrance. If you receive a Plus One, it will be indicated on your formal invitation as well as the "RSVP" page on our website. If your invitation indicates a guest/Plus One, please ensure that you include their name on your RSVP. Thank you for understanding.

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

If your child is invited, their name(s) will be indicated on your formal invitation and on the "RSVP" page of our website. Space is limited, so we understand this may be an inconvenience to you and your family--we apologize for this and understand if this impacts your ability to attend!

Question

What's for dinner & What option should I select?

Answer

While we are keeping the specific menu a surprise, we are thrilled to announce that dinner will be a grand buffet catered by Station Square. The evening will feature a curated selection of dishes, including a signature carving station and an array of hors d'oeuvres during the cocktail hour. For our younger guests, a designated children's meal will be served directly to the table. When RSVPing, please select the 'Children’s Plate' only for those who prefer it; we recognize that older children or those with larger appetites may prefer to enjoy the full buffet service with the adults. Please ensure your selection reflects your guest's preference so we can provide an accurate count to our caterers. If your child will not require a plated meal simply select "no meal needed".

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Drinks are on us! A full bar with wine, beer, seltzers, and spirits will be provided.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 PM. Please arrive and be seated no later than 1:45 PM--entrance may not be permitted after this time. Cocktail Hour begins at 4:30 --doors will open to the reception venue at 4:15 PM. If you do not attend Cocktail Hour, entrance to dinner service will begin promptly at 6:00 PM.

Question

Where can I park, and is there a cost to do so?

Answer

Both our ceremony and reception venues have ample parking space available at no cost to our guests. The church parking lot is located in the front of the building, off of Via Mt. Carmel Avenue--this includes handicap parking. Stambaugh Auditorium's parking lot is located at the rear of the building. Access to the lot can be reached off of Ford Avenue. If for some reason this parking lot has reached capacity, the overflow lot is directly across the street at the old CVS.

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

If you are looking for accommodations please check the "Travel" page here on our website for recommendations, as well as our pre-reserved room block.

Question

Is there assigned seating?

Answer

Yes. Upon entering cocktail hour, escort cards will be displayed indicating your seating assignments for dinner. Please collect your card and take it to your seat for the evening.

Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Due to the gap in time and logistics of our special day, transportation from the ceremony to the reception venue will not provided. We encourage our guests to carpool, uber, or get dropped off as we intend to provide a fun night! Please note the ceremony location is an approx. 6-minute drive or 25-minute walk to the reception venue, and attendance of our ceremony is not required.

Question

Will there be an After Party?

Answer

Although we will not be providing a post reception event if you would like to continue the party, we invite our guests to head downtown and take advantage of Federal Street's night life!

Question

I have a question not answered here.

Answer

We understand you may have other inquiries about our special day. Please reach out to Maid of Honor Lexie Pflager if you have any additional questions.

Registry

Your Presence is the best gift we could receive. In the event you would like to shower us with even more love, here is our carefully curated registry with all the things that will help us ring in this next chapter of our lives. Our Registry Items come from a host of different sites and stores. If you would like to purchase something on the list simply select your item and you will be forwarded to the correct location for purchase (i.e. here on Zola or external site) -- The item(s) will be marked as purchased to mitigate duplicates, this will be visible to all guests right here on this single page! We can't thank you enough for your contribution to the start of our forever.
