Our Story
Jesus and Yesenia first met in 2013 while working together at Hometown Buffet. What began as casual conversations among coworkers quickly turned into a genuine friendship. Over time, they found themselves spending more time together, just the two of them, and by the end of that year, Jesse asked Yesenia to be his girlfriend. They often say they met on Jesse’s birthday, that day Yesenia brought him a party-size bag of Hot Cheetos. It may not have been their first time meeting, but it’s the day they both remember most clearly, and it’s become a special part of their story. They officially started dating on October 18, 2013, a date that’s stuck with them for more reasons than one. Jesse proposed in Chicago, just past midnight on October 19, 2023… but they were so sure it still counted as "their" day that they agreed to call it October 18 (California time, of course). Now, they’re getting married on October 17, closing the circle with a full weekend of meaning. Over the years, they’ve experienced so much side by side. They've moved cities, including a few years living in Bakersfield before returning to their hometown of Orange County. They’ve traveled across the U.S. and internationally, exploring places like Thailand, New York, Mexico, and Florida. Together, they’ve attended concerts, survived music festivals, worked more than one job as a couple, and shared countless milkshakes along the way. Their relationship has always been filled with laughter, love, and the kind of moments that become inside jokes for years. One of their favorite memories is a simple one: Yesenia trying to impress Jesse by climbing up a slide and accidentally falling. It was funny, a little embarrassing, and somehow the perfect reflection of who they are: lighthearted, supportive, and always laughing together. Jesse proposed in Chicago on their anniversary. It was an intimate, emotional moment that captured everything meaningful about their relationship. There was no grand gesture, just honesty, love, and a heartfelt promise for the future. Now, they’re preparing to take the next step in their journey. They feel grateful, excited, and truly ready. After all these years together, their connection continues to grow, and they can’t wait to celebrate this new beginning with all of you, their closest friends and family.
Nuestra Historia
Jesús y Yesenia se conocieron en 2013 mientras trabajaban juntos en Hometown Buffet. Lo que comenzó como conversaciones casuales entre compañeros de trabajo rápidamente se convirtió en una amistad genuina. Con el tiempo, empezaron a pasar más tiempo juntos, solo ellos dos, y al final de ese mismo año, Jesse le pidió a Yesenia que fuera su novia. Siempre recuerdan el cumpleaños de Jesse, cuando Yesenia le sorprendió con una bolsa grande de Hot Cheetos. Ese detalle sencillo marcó el inicio de algo especial. Puede que no haya sido la primera vez que se vieron, pero es el día que ambos recuerdan con más claridad y se ha convertido en una parte especial de su historia. Oficialmente comenzaron a salir el 18 de octubre de 2013, una fecha que se les quedó grabada por más de una razón. Jesse le propuso matrimonio en Chicago, justo después de la medianoche del 19 de octubre de 2023… pero estaban tan seguros de que todavía contaba como “su” día que decidieron considerarlo el 18 de octubre (hora de California, por supuesto). Ahora se casarán el 17 de octubre, cerrando el círculo con un fin de semana lleno de significado. A lo largo de los años, han vivido tantas experiencias juntos. Se han mudado de ciudad, incluyendo algunos años en Bakersfield antes de regresar a su hogar en el Condado de Orange. Han viajado por Estados Unidos y al extranjero, explorando lugares como Tailandia, Nueva York, México y Florida. Juntos han asistido a conciertos, sobrevivido a festivales de música, trabajado en más de un empleo como pareja y compartido incontables malteadas en el camino. Su relación siempre ha estado llena de risas, amor y esos momentos que se convierten en chistes internos por años. Uno de sus recuerdos favoritos es muy simple: Yesenia tratando de impresionar a Jesse subiendo por un tobogán y cayéndose accidentalmente. Fue gracioso, un poco vergonzoso y, de alguna manera, el reflejo perfecto de lo que son: alegres, solidarios y siempre riendo juntos. Jesse le propuso matrimonio en Chicago en su aniversario. Fue un momento íntimo y emotivo que capturó todo lo que significa su relación. No hubo un gesto grandioso, solo honestidad, amor y una promesa sincera para el futuro. Ahora se preparan para dar el siguiente paso en su camino juntos. Se sienten agradecidos, emocionados y realmente listos. Jesse and I try to grab one whenever we can, and if the timing works out, we’re hoping to start our first morning as newlyweds with a cup in hand. Guests are welcome to wear cocktail dresses or dressy attire; tuxedos are optional. Please dress to impress and enjoy the celebration! For the church ceremony, we kindly ask guests to follow a modest dress code to respect the sacred space: If your dress is low-cut and reveals cleavage, please wear a shawl or cover-up during the ceremony. Dresses with open backs (exposing more than half the back) should also be paired with a shawl or cover-up. Dresses with leg slits must not go higher than the knee. If needed, slits can be pinned or taped down for the ceremony. After the ceremony, feel free to remove any cover-ups and dance the night away!
