Welcome to our wedding website! We cannot wait for you to join us to celebrate our special day. Love, KoKo & Jess
Our story through Jessica’s eyes KoKo and I first met through my best friend Ima, who happens to be KoKo's first cousin, in April 2021. Sidebar - Ima and I have known each other since our undergraduate days at UC Santa Cruz in 2003. In many ways, I already felt like part of the family. I was in the process of relocating to Texas and had returned to San Francisco to move out of my apartment. During my stay, Ima's father passed away unexpectedly. KoKo and I met for the first time at the wake. I introduced myself, but he gave me the cold shoulder (Remember this is my story lol). Interestingly, there is another layer to our connection. My bonus mom, Rhonda, worked for KoKo’s father back in the 80s before she met and married my father, James. His father was also her grandmother's and mother's cardiologist for many years. So, our ROOTS were deeply intertwined long before we even knew each other. From the wake to the funeral to the repass, KoKo and I have been connected. It feels like a Hallmark story in the making! Here we are, celebrating our three-year wedding anniversary and finally having our ceremony. It’s been an incredible journey, and we are excited to share it with all of you. Our story through KoKo’s eyes Jessica and I officially met on April 23, 2021, during a family function in San Francisco. I remember the weekend being cold and frigid, and we ended up sitting inside a church talking for almost two hours. As the function came to an end, I asked Jessica to have dinner with me, and she agreed. However, she backed out because of my rugged good looks and my cologne. Ok, that's not true; I actually had to ask for a rain check because I needed to return to Los Angeles for work. Before leaving, I made sure to get her phone number, and from that day on, we have spoken almost every single day. Jessica saved my life and helped redefine what life and love should be like. During my birthday in October that year, I knew I would ask Jessica to marry me. The moment she flew back that Monday, I cried realizing I couldn’t stand to be apart from her. On Christmas morning of 2021, I asked Jessica to marry me. She has shown me what love, support and strength is supposed to look like. Through her, I have learned to be a better man. My wife is beautiful, funny, smart and loving. She is my queen, and she holds my heart forever.
Her Story Let's be clear - I had a little idea that KoKo was going to propose because he made it known very early on. When he asked me what type of ring I wanted, I thought, “Hmmm, this guy is serious." I knew that Christmas was his favorite holiday and that he was planning to visit me in Texas. By then, we had already discussed relocation and expanding our family. However, I still didn’t know exactly when he was going to propose. Christmas Eve was such a weird day. KoKo was buying all these roses, but I thought they were for my Nana and Bonus Mom. As midnight approached, I noticed candles lit and Moet Rose being poured - everyone knows "Moet Rose" is my favorite champagne! All of a sudden, it was midnight, Charles wanted to open Christmas gifts. KoKo started getting visibly nervous. In my head, I am saying, "What is wrong with him? He’s been off all day." Around 12:30 am, everyone gathered for a toast. Suddenly, KoKo got down on one knee and said, "Jessica Jaminda Williams, will you marry me?" The icing on the cake was when he included Charles in the proposal. When Charles gave the thumbs up, the rest is history. To be honest, I knew from the moment we met that he was the one. When you know, you know. My husband is solid, loving and unselfish. He never wavers when it comes to the people he loves.

It can really be a toss up. For sure it will be in the 80s. However, rain and sunshine can be at odds. Keep a close look to your weather app.

The Nigerian money dance, also known as the money spray, is a lively and fun tradition at Nigerian weddings where guests give money to congratulate the couple and support their new life together. Guests "spray" the couple with money while they dance on the floor, blessing them with wishes for happiness, future wealth and good fortune. You might also see guests spraying the parents or wedding party during their special moments! Participation is completely optional, so feel free to join in or just enjoy watching! If you'd like to participate, we recommend bringing cash or small bills to make it easier to contribute. It’s all about celebrating and having a good time with family and friends! The money dance will occur during the reception. We’ll announce when it’s time to join in the fun!
The best way to reach us or Roe (our wedding planner) is via email at ekongswedding25@gmail.com. Just to let you know the day of the wedding we will be unavailable to answer questions. However, we will have a day-of-contact to help support answering any questions.
