We decided to stay in the Bubble

Pandemics aren't all bad...

Alicia: The pandemic was a weird time. Jesse and I had been working together for almost two years at that point, and had become good friends. Because we had also started developing the Living Album Experience together, we were "in each other's bubble" as the lingo went when the world shut down. Jesse: During the pandemic, which was considered a pretty dark time for all of us, the true bright light for me was my relationship with Alicia which completely blossomed during one of the most turbulent moments in our time. It was truly remarkable. Alicia: But let's back up a second; I have a clear memory of telling my sister Andrea that I thought I was in love with Jesse. About a week later, our friend Elaine told me that I should make it clear to Jesse how I felt. I said...NO WAY. She said DO IT. Jesse and I had plans to watch a live stream of a Billie Eilish concert at his place, so I decided to wear a dress that, shall we say, emphasized my décolletage. This was late September 2020. We sat on his couch for the concert...with his beloved dog Porkchop stationed as a chaperone between us. Nothing happened. A few weeks later, I had plans with two other friends "in the bubble" to take a Halloween getaway weekend to Palm Desert for a change of scenery. After speaking with them, we all agreed we would invite Jesse to join us. He immediately accepted. Jesse: I knew pretty quickly how I felt. Alicia: Needless to say, by the end of the weekend, we were borderline inseparable. Jesse: Porkchop and I moved in to Chez Balboa in November of 2021. Alicia: If I could have ordered a man on the internet, it would have been Jesse. He is the best adventure partner, voice of reason, and life partner I could have ever asked for. We can't wait to celebrate the start of our next grand adventure with you.

We recommend flying into Juan Santamaria International Airport (SJO) in San Jose. This is the closest international airport to the villa. https://www.sjoairport.com/

Shuttle

Ground Transportation

March 18, 2027 6:00 pm

Transportation vans work 24/7 so you can wake up in the jungle, even if you arrive in the late evening! This is a private van option organized by our villa concierges. The drivers will make stops along the way to take pictures & a bite to eat. The trip typically takes around 3 to 3.5 hours. Pricing will vary based on the number of passengers, so consider sharing the ride if you and others are arriving around the same time to reduce costs. Your driver will meet you at the airport exit, holding a sign with your name once you've collected your luggage. Important: to use this service, register at link below with your flight info.

Flight

Domestic Flights

There are two airlines that fly from SJO to XQP. It is about a 25-minute flight. You will need to clear customs, pick up your bags and walk over to the domestic terminal ~ 7-minute walk. You will need to request a villa shuttle from Quepos to Manuel Antonio. Sansa – www.flysansa.com Costa Rica Green Airways – www.costaricagreenair.com Note: If your flight into SJO lands later in the day and you prefer to take the puddle jumper vs. ground transportation, you will need to stay the night near the airport and take a puddle jumper to Manuel Antonio the next day.

Rental Car

Rental Cars

Parking is very limited in Manuel Antonio so often having a car is more of a burden. Taxis are plentiful and not expensive to get around town. If you are planning on staying after, you can arrange for a car to be delivered to your lodging upon check out.
