A General Note on Travel and Accommodations
We are so excited to welcome you to Portugal this summer! The wedding weekend will take place in Lisbon (7/31) and Sintra (8/1 and 8/2). Sintra is a 30-minute drive from Lisbon, with cheap and easy taxis available from the airport in case you’d like to avoid the hassle of renting a car. We recommend downloading Bolt and Uber ahead of your visit. Accommodation: Our recommended accommodation for those who want to stay in Sintra is the Penha Longa Resort, where we will be providing transport from on the wedding day. (Please note that hotel prices at Penha Longa have increased substantially as we are now in the summer months, but we invite you to keep checking on the website as their rates vary week-to-week. Additionally, there are some fantastic airbnb's in Sintra and would encourage you to explore there as well.) For those who would prefer to stay in Lisbon, we have included three hotels we would recommend in the heart of the city. All are conveniently located within a block of each other along the Avenida da Liberdade, and are a walkable distance to the historic Lisbon neighborhoods of Bairro Alto, Chiado, Alfama and the Baixa. Sintra and Lisbon are both beautiful, and taxis are very cheap and accessible between the two locations, so there are no bad options! Please note that these are only recommendations and welcome you to explore additional hotels and Airbnb's as you wish. We are here to help! Please feel free to reach out with any further questions.

Should we stay in Sintra or Lisbon?
Answer
Completely up to you! Lisbon is a beautiful historic city while Sintra is a small picturesque town in the hills. Sintra and Lisbon are a 30-40 minute drive from one another and there will be events in each.

As much as we love your little ones, the events will be adults-only. We do hope you understand, and hope that this allows for enough time to make the necessary arrangements for you to still join in the festivities!

What can I expect over the weekend?

Thursday, July 31st The welcome party begins at 8:30P, allowing you to have dinner ahead of time. We will be serving small bites, but Lisbon has an unbelievable food scene and would recommend you take advantage of it! Friday, August 1 The morning would be a great time to explore Lisbon or Sintra, as both have so much to offer! The pool party begins at 2:00P and lunch will be served around 4:00P. There is no end time to the pool party. We will have a very casual/light dinner on property and will relax by the fire in the evening. We invite any and all to stay as long as you wish, and also completely understand if you want to enjoy dinner elsewhere! Saturday, August 2 Wedding day! The wedding will begin at 4:30P, so plenty of time to enjoy Portugal in the morning and early afternoon! Please account buffer travel time in getting to the venue. Sunday, August 3 We will be at Penha Longa Hotel saying our farewells and hanging by the pool on Sunday. There are no events planned on Sunday as we know many will be leaving to head home or enjoy further European Travel.
