Hike to See Horses (Optional)

3:00 pm

This is an easy hike with roughly 500 ft. elevation gain that will take around 1.5 hours to complete. The horses are grazing so they can be anywhere but they are usually in the valley below Forca Rossa so that is the direction we will start towards! We recommend wearing hiking shoes and bringing a water bottle.

Welcome Dinner

6:00 pm

We will come together for a welcome dinner at the rifugio on Friday night before the wedding. The menu is a la carte and guests can choose a starter, first dish, main course, and dessert.

Wedding Ceremony

11:00 am

There will be light bites and drinks on the terrace after the ceremony. Then guests will have a few hours to rest and recharge before the reception.

Hike & Via Ferrata to Costabella Peak (Optional)

8:30 am

This is a 7.5 mile hike rated hard difficulty with roughly 1800 ft. elevation gain that will take around 6.5 hours to complete. The hike will have beautiful scenery of the Marmolada as well as relics from World War I. Please see FAQ's for additional details on what to bring. For guests who are not interested in completing the via ferrata there is an option to join us for the first section of the hike which includes taking the cable car and walking to Rifugio Passo delle Selle for lunch or a snack before taking the trail or cable car back down to Rifugio Fuciade.

If you would like to stay an additional night please let us know so we can plan accommodations accordingly.

Travel

Lodging: Guests will stay at either Rifugio Fuciade or Hotel Des Alpes in Soraga di Fassa. We will help coordinate lodging and room assignments. There is no need to reach out to the rifugio for reservations as we have the entire place reserved, all you need to do is RSVP. Additional details will be provided after RSVP's have been received. Rifugio Fuciade- https://www.fuciade.it/en/ Hotel des Alpes- https://www.hdesalpes.it/en/ Transportation: It is recommended that guests rent a car to travel to the rifugio and have the best accessibility to the region. Remember to reserve an automatic car if you are not comfortable driving a manual! How many nights are guests staying?

Answer

Guest should plan on staying Friday and Saturday night. Sunday evening is optional, we plan on staying Sunday evening as the hike to Costabella peak will take the majority of the day. Please let us know if you plan on staying Sunday night so we can arrange accommodation.

What is included in the accommodation?

Answer

Accommodation is roughly a 150 euro fee per person per night and will include a room, breakfast, and dinner. Drinks outside of the wedding events are available a la carte, the rifugio has a wine cellar and a fully stocked bar.

What is the attire for the wedding ceremony?

Answer

The wedding attire is casual, please wear whatever you will feel comfortable in! We are planning to have an outside ceremony that will be hosted in a grassy valley, comfortable shoes are recommended. The weather in September may vary so make sure to have jackets and warm covers in case needed.

What attire is needed for the weekend?

Answer

We will be staying in a remote mountain area, the weather in September can be variable. We recommend packing outdoor attire, jackets and walking shoes/hiking boots.

What will the weather be like?

Answer

The weather temperature in September can vary. Usually high temperatures are in the mid- 50's to low 60's and the low temperatures in 40's with clear sunny days. There is a low chance of rain or snow so guests should be prepared just in case.

What will be needed for the via ferratta hike?

Answer

Via ferrata gear will be needed to complete the hike including a harness and lanyard. In addition a helmet, backpack, and hiking poles are recommended. We will plan on stopping for sandwiches/food at Rifugio Passo de la Selle, make sure to bring plenty of water!
