Jazz and Colt met on Hinge in 2023 – but it was almost a missed connection. Jazmine saw Colt first, but took too long trying to think of how to open, and the app timed out. After ten minutes of methodically swiping left, Colt appeared again. She kept it simple this time: They swapped favorite Sopranos characters (Sil, Artie), bonded over a shared taste in comedy, and marveled at times their paths may have crossed in college. But it was more than a month before their schedules allowed them to meet in person. They finally met for dinner at In Riva in the East Falls section of Philly, and were quick to schedule their second date, in Old City. It became clear to both they'd met someone special while sharing ice cream in a park literally over top of I-95. That could have been a solid proposal spot for Colt but it was demolished a year later, in a spiteful move by the city. They traveled to Acadia National Park in Maine that fall. Standing on the secluded Hunter’s Beach, accessible only by trail, the two awkwardly admitted they loved each other. Two years later, on the same beach, Colt asked Jazz if she’d spend her life with him, and she said yes! Colt (swept up in his grand, romantic gesture) had no real plan to document the moment. But a good omen in the shape of a former wedding photographer emerged from the tree line, in tears, saying she’d seen everything. The newly engaged handed her their camera and she snapped a few photos. Her husband, who was hiking with her that day, had also proposed in Acadia decades prior. The two are still happily married. We’re so happy we found each other and can’t wait to share our wedding day with all of you!
