How We Met
On a random weekday night in the early spring of 2019 an up-and-coming country music artist by the name Mitchell Tenpenny was putting on a concert in a little dive bar named Baxters in Louisville, Kentucky. Side note: neither of us actually like this place. Ashley got a few friends together for the show and some time off from school work. Meanwhile Jay showed up solo due to his lack of friends. In between songs like Drunk Me and Mixed Drinks the two somehow bumped into each other and hit it off. A few days/weeks later Jay decided to ask Ashley on their first "date" to watch Iowa State take on Ohio State in the NCAA Basketball Tournament at Drakes, which has now became one of their favorite restaurants. Even after a rough first game/date, Ashley continued to answer Jay's calls....and the rest is history.

This "hotel" is in walking distance of our wedding venue. It is owned by a company called Vacasa (similar to airbnb) and it has an assortment of condo/apartment type rentals. These are by far the closest places to stay to the wedding venue. They are about a 1 mile walk away from broadway.

Are kids welcome?
Answer
Due to size restrictions at our venue, we can only accomodate children of family. All guests counted for in your party will be listed on your invitation and when you RSVP. Invites addressed to “last name Family” indicate we have included your kiddos in our plans. If you have any questions concerning who in your family has been accounted for, please reach out!

Can I bring a date?

We have chosen to keep our event intimate and spend the evening with our closest people! All guests we wish to attend our celebration will be listed on the formal invitation as well as on the RSVP feature on our website. If you have questions or feel like we made a mistake please feel free to contact us.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
Our preferred attire is cocktail attire with summertime flare! Most importantly, we are preparing for a hot summer day and want our guests to be comfortable. Nice sundresses, shorts and short sleeves button ups are welcome! Please no jeans or sweatpants.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?
Answer
The travel tab found at the top of our website has information regarding hotel blocks we have arranged in advance. Nashville is a growing city with LOTS of airbnbs. If that is more your style please feel free to reach out to one us for recommendations on the best areas to stay.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?
Answer
Our venue has ample free street parking surrounding it. There will be security officers outside that are able to direct you if you have any questions!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Answer
We will be opening the venue to guests starting at 5 PM and our ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30 PM. All guests that arrive after the ceremony has started will be redirected to join us after the ceremony to limit distractions during this very special moment. Prior to the ceremony we will be serving light refreshments to those arriving early and wanting to mingle!
