Travel

The Wedding Website of Jayati Burman and James Mickens

Flight

Jabalpur's Dumna Airport (JLR)

The most convenient airport to fly into is Jabalpur's Dumna Airport (JLR). Since there are no direct international flights to Jabalpur, you will first need to fly into a major Indian hub. We recommend one of the following: 1. Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi (DEL) 2. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai (BOM) From Delhi or Mumbai, you can take a short domestic flight directly to Jabalpur (JLR). IndiGo airlines operate regular flights on these routes.

Train

Jabalpur Junction (JBP)

Traveling by Indian Railways is a quintessential experience! We can't wait to welcome you. The main railway station you should book your ticket to is Jabalpur Junction (JBP). It is well-connected to major cities across India.

Shuttle

Transportation to and from hotel

January 7, 2026 11:00 am - 11:45 pm

To ensure your journey is seamless and stress-free from the moment you arrive in Jabalpur, we have arranged transportation to and from the Welcomhotel for all guests arriving at Jabalpur's Dumna Airport (JLR) and Jabalpur Junction Railway Station (JBP).

Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Jayati Burman and James Mickens
We are so thrilled that you'll be joining us in Jabalpur! Should you find yourself with some free time amidst the celebrations, we encourage you to discover some of the natural and historical beauty that our host city has to offer. Here are a few of our favorite spots, all relatively close to the hotel.
Dhuandhar Waterfall

Dhuandhar Waterfall

MP 483053, India

If you only have time for one excursion, make it this one. This is what Jabalpur is famous for! Marble Rocks at Bhedaghat: Witness the majestic Narmada River as it flows through a stunning gorge of towering white marble cliffs that change color with the sunlight. The best way to experience it is by taking a serene boat ride through the gorge. Dhuandhar Falls: Just a short distance from the Marble Rocks, you'll find the powerful Dhuandhar Falls. There's a cable car that offers a fantastic aerial view of the falls. Our Tip: Plan to spend about 3-4 hours here to enjoy both the boat ride and the waterfall viewpoint.

Sadar Bazar

Sadar Bazar

Jabalpur, MP 482001, India

Should you wish to dive into the local culture and find a unique souvenir from your trip, there's one place you can't miss: Sadar Bazaar. As the main commercial and shopping hub of the city, Sadar Bazaar (or simply "Sadar") offers a truly authentic Indian market experience. It's a bustling labyrinth of shops, street vendors, and food stalls, all located just a short 10-15 minute ride from the Welcomhotel. What to Look For Marble Crafts: Given Jabalpur's fame for the Marble Rocks, you can find beautiful miniature carvings, statues, and other keepsakes made from the local marble. Handloom & Textiles: The area is dotted with shops selling beautiful saris, dress materials, and fabrics like the famed Chanderi and Maheshwari silks. Bangles & Jewelry: You'll find shops with walls adorned with colorful glass bangles, as well as stores offering traditional and contemporary silver jewelry.

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

Kila Bandhogarh, MP 484664, India

For our guests who are arriving a few days early or staying longer, Central India offers some of the best wildlife experiences in the world. Bandhavgarh National Park is approx. 3.5-hour drive from the hotel and offers incredible jeep safaris where you can also see leopards, deer, and countless species of birds. Please note: Safaris must be booked well in advance, especially during peak season. If you are interested, we recommend planning this part of your trip as soon as possible.

Kanha Tiger Reserve

Kanha Tiger Reserve

MP, India

If you have some more time, consider a trip to Kanha Tiger Reserve, one of India's largest and best-managed national parks. Located about a 3-hour drive away, Kanha is renowned for its beautiful landscapes and successful tiger conservation efforts. An open-jeep safari offers a fantastic chance to see the Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the rare Barasingha (swamp deer), and hundreds of bird species in their natural habitat. Please Note: Safaris must be booked well in advance due to high demand. We recommend planning this excursion as soon as possible if you are interested.
