Jeena: Who knew that a monthly catch-up with my best friends would turn out to be the best day of my life. While on our monthly catch-up brunch in Jersey City with my best friends , one of them mentions she needs to grab flower centerpieces for a family members birthday party. Obviously not thinking much of it, we went along to help her grab these flower pieces. She takes us to a beautiful but random house in a nice quiet neighborhood in Jersey City and walk up what feels like 50 flights of stairs. I thought it was a bit weird just going up all these stairs to a rooftop but also told myself ‘oh she probably grows her own flowers on the roof!’…..I am pretty gullible if you couldn’t tell already. They urge me to open the door to the rooftop which at first I was hesitant considering its a strangers home, and to my amazement I see Jay standing there in a suit and the most beautiful view of NYC in the background. It felt like everything else was at a standstill and I was dreaming while Jay told me the most beautiful things I’ll remember forever. Easily one of the best days of our lives. Jay: It was a warm sunny day and I had been planning the biggest surprise to the love of my life. I had told Jeena I was working an event in Edison with my cousin the whole day and won't be as responsive since the cell service was bad. Deceiving my girlfriend for a whole day was a mission as we track each other and it could give away my position at anytime. As her friends took her to brunch in Jersey City to keep her busy, I was setting up the whole ensemble with the help of friends and family and of course the lovely decor team only 15mins down the road! As time went by and her friends updating me of their every move, I was ready to make my best friend, my fiance. Standing there at the roof waiting for her, I was remembering our journey together— the laughter, the tears, the quiet moments of shared dreams —and I knew with a certainty that she is the one I want by my side. And once she opened that door, everything in my head went quiet and in that moment it was just us.
