Key moments include: Kasi Yatra: In this playful tradition, the groom symbolically renounces worldly life and sets out for Kashi, before the bride’s father persuades him to return and marry his daughter. Malai Matru (Garland Exchange): The bride and groom exchange floral garlands as a joyful gesture of acceptance and respect. Oonjal (Swing Ceremony): The couple sits on a decorated swing while family gently rocks them and offers blessings for their life together. Muhurtham: The most sacred moment of the ceremony, held at an auspicious time when the couple is formally united in marriage. Kanyadanam: The bride’s parents formally give their daughter’s hand to the groom. Mangalyadharanam: The groom ties the sacred mangalsutra around the bride’s neck, symbolizing their marital bond. Saptapadi (Seven Steps): The couple takes seven symbolic steps together around the sacred fire, making vows for their life ahead.
